Has he ever used the free slots that he has from Divine Font? He always seems so on edge about his limited spell slots but he has FOUR(by the Remastered rules, it's 1+Cha mod in Legacy) free slots for Heal.

I feel like I say this every week. but like... Risky Surgery. I am almost positive he has it. He is an expert in medicine. at level 2 with what I assume is a 16 or 18 wisdom, his bonus is either +9 or +10. with risky surgery its +11 or +12. Meaning a 3 or higher is 4d8 healing. and an 8 or higher is 4d8+15. he needs to be doing that to heal every time unless the 1d8 damage will kill the character. but even without it he needs like a 5 or higher to get the regular 2d8 and a 10 to get the 2d8+15.

Joe's minimal healing feels like the equivalent of an HS football coach who tells a kid to "rub some dirt on it" when he's clearly just suffered a compound tib/fib fracture.

I hope next week's Fod is dedicated to Skid unpacking that insane story he told.

Troy, check out the Pacific Northwest Octopus. They live about 2 years, get to be about 6 feet from tentacle tip to tentacle tip. They are smart and fun and can hold their breath on land for about 1/2 an hour. You should go for it!

Troy, Google "How many eggs does an octopus lay?" before you follow that idea. Octopuses (I grew up accepting only 'octopi' as the plural but the times they are a' changin') also happen to be my favorite animal because they absolutely are hella cool and yes, I also believe they are a species that didn't originate on Earth 😄😍. But you get a pregnant one, or try to farm them for more, and you'll end up with thousands.

Iirc octopuses and octopi are BOTH correct. The word is ancient Greek originally, so the plural would be "octopuses", when the Romans adopted Greek words, they changed it to "octopi" to fit the Latin plural. So really either one works, it's a weird edge case for a weird and wonderful animal.

Troy, the Octopus King, mastering Call of Cthulhu games? Hell yeah! There is a nice video series from BBC showing how this person had an octopus as a pet for research and it shows what they do. It was mindblowing! You gotta check that out

JOE. MY man. New Pathfinder for clerics changed how healing fonts work. You now get five (blanket, no longer based upon any stats) They're treated like focus spells. You aren't " out of spells after every encounter" for heels anymore 😉

I'm sorry, but that is somewhat incorrect. The number of healing spell slots you get from your divine font is no longer tied to Charisma (like you said), but they are still treated like regular spells and won't come back with a Refocus action and the amount available increases at certain character levels. This is directly from the new Player Core (capital letter emphasis mine): "Healing Font: You gain 4 additional spell slots EACH DAY at your highest rank of cleric spell slots. You can prepare only heal spells in these slots. At 5th level, the number of additional slots increases to 5, and at 15th level, the total number of additional slots increases to 6."

Oh, of course Skid calls it within two seconds. 😂 I think a lot of folks in the know have been preaching patience, patience with this campaign - because this moment lands so hard for players up on their golarion lore (and especially those who've played Dead Suns!) Wonder if we'll come across a Tumsy ancestor...

Has anyone read the Chronicles of Cain yet. It's urban fantasy almost a direct ripoff of the Dresden Files. Actually there are lots of Dresden files references in it. So it's Dresden meets Lovecraft. With titles like Gates of Yog-Sothoth you can't go wrong. Sorry slight spoiler. Cains house pet is an octopus that eventually becomes a baby Cthulhu. But a bad ass baby Cthulhu. It's a really good series by John Corwin. I think it's 10 novels.

My hedgehog was a great little pet. They ARE illegal pets in several states, though.

“Octopuses” is a completely acceptable plural, just FYI. People just think it’s wrong because they think you have to be hyper-correct or something but, no, it’s correct.

Skid is the living embodiment of a left turn. Every story he tells is completely unpredictable, you think it's going one way and then it suddenly diverts into unhinged fever dream territory. No warning. Just, we are here now. I love it. I would totally watch a podcast where Skid tells stories. Oh wait, I do!
