Yeah. Fenced yard, chip, underground fence, the whole nine... Might help if he another dog who is settled in as well. Wouldn't let him out unsupervised.

I duno why these people didn't coordinate with the dock workers who fed him. He was fat. And had friends at the dock for sure.

I love the part where he instantaneously became calm after being caught like he could sense the aura of the people around him were there to love him and won't hurt him.

This little guy was able to keep a whole professional team from catching him for 3 days! He's a champion

Before they know it, they're getting a nice warm bath and cuddles, and they're thinking "this isn't so bad..." 😋

The status quo of living at the port isn't good, but it's tolerable, so he resists being rescued because he obviously doesn't _know_ that he's being rescued, and he wants to avoid an unknown fate that may be worse than what he's got right now.

Just imagine living on the streets for two years. I'm glad that we still have goodhearted people helping these animals. Bravo to all.

He actually seemed pretty healthy. He wasn't scrawny with matted fur. I notice stray cats are somewhat psychologically damaged, it shows in their self care. Cats usually lick themselves clean every chance they get. Houdini held it together for 2 years + he's mad smart. He was probably thinking I know they don't think I'm gonna fall for that, as they were setting up traps.

Bless Houdini's little heart! He survived by running....which is smart in SoCal (with all their kill shelters.) Thankfully he was captured by Hope 4 Paws and given a wonderful happy ending. You can see the intelligence in his sweet eyes. God bless him and the rescuers!

hope FOR paws. theres a shelter called hope4paws, but it was hope FOR paws who rescued him

When I saw the rescuers desperate attempts to catch Houdini using a metal cage trap and giant net, it reminded me of Wile E. Coyote's crazy contraptions from ACME to get the Road Runner! I'm glad these folks succeeded.

This also happened to me.. But the dog is a mother and my father and my siblings have to rescue both, mom and her kid.. The mom was very aggressive and fast.. Since in my country mostly Muslim people,, and few of us people are non-Muslim so around the neighbourhood their only hope to rescue was ask for our help.. They want to help the dog family but can't because of the reason.. Anyway about the mother she was aggressive because she doesn't trust any of the people around the neighbourhood although we live on the same street this is due to many of us keep taking her babies away so maybe that why.. But to rescue them isn't easy, it take us for 5 days to catch the mom first.. She keep playing hide and seek with us😂but thankfully with help of our cats, they lure her to the cage lol.. Then it easy for us to catch the kids😅fortunetly,, they all save in our hands now😊

@@user-sg4ov7ng4h I love dogs as much if not more than the next person. Dogs are domesticated animals, which means that they can live in the wild just as fine. Indeed most dogs in the world are feral (80%). Now dogs specifically bred for the amusement of people (which I oppose) often have grave medical conditions, and probably would not survive in the wild

I know that he was not in a good place to live and that everyone was trying to help him, but I really like his spunk. Got a taste of freedom from whatever might have been harming him in the past and he wasn't going back! Luckily for him, he went to a better place. Bless your big life little dog.

He seemed pretty well behaved once caught and they didn’t indicate that he had any social problems, so he might have been in a fine home and just escaped. I don’t know why we always assume that these dogs were abused.

I've been trying to rescue an abandoned German Shepherd girl for a little over a year now. She only comes close to me to eat, and has only touched my hand twice, but will not let me touch her. If I make any movement toward her, she's gone like a lightning flash! I don't want to lose any trust she has in me, but I really want to catch her and have her vetted and possibly adopt her myself. It's going to take a village, wish me luck! 🕊️🙏❤️🕯️🐾
