Fun fact about the Mandela catalog. Wendigoon has gone on record saying that this series is the most terrifying thing he has seen. He absolutely loves it. Also the creator of Mandela Catalog currently has called Wendigoon “Iceberg Boy” on Wendigoon’s streams

Bit of a warning, one of the Analog Horror series, Local 58, has a part where it has you stare at a red dot as weird faces flash by on both sides. This will *[ VERY LITERALLY ]* give you nightmares. It is an actual psychological technique to make you incapable of seeing humans faces as 'faces.' Wendigoon got nightmares after watching it, that shit works.

When it comes to Caesar, the one who took his mom to the ER, it is widely believed that he is an Alternate at the time that he is calling his friend and asking him to turn on the cameras, cameras that were already on and caught Caesar’s mom being attacked. That would explain his monotone. Also there is very much a reason why killing himself was a “bad decision”

Was gonna say, “why would those cameras ever be _off_ when they’re bound to catch something?” More than that, in a lockdown based on alternates, wouldn’t the thing be to call for aid and _not_ leave the location? And guessing the ‘bad decision’ is based on what happened there, an (possible) alternate tricking someone else into leaving their home and getting followed back (or something worse but not obvious)

Specifically, the physical alternates are demons who have convinced someone to kill themself and then possessed the corpse. That means that by killing himself, Marc has given another demon a physical body that they can use

Mandela Catalogue is one that had to grow on me. The idea was always unnerving, but it was only as the creator improved his craft that he has been able to bring out how truly horrifying the premise is. Gemini Home Entertainment and Local 58, on the other hand, had me gripped from their very first video.

Mandela was definitely the one that both popularized *and* killed the "Every analogue horror video" archetype/style. I'm glad he found his stride, because Mandela by all rights was a series that could have easily died.

Yeah, Monument Mythos is kind of the same way Always good concepts, but the improvement was really noticeable as the creator got better at pulling the best parts to the surface I think that's just part of the risk of doing stuff with non-standard presentation like this rather than something slightly more traditional like found footage stuff or whatever, without much else to use as a blueprint you kind of just have to trial and error your way to figuring out what works

The good thing about this series is that all the goofy stuff like the monotone and all that keeps getting better. Like the man did these in his phone. As Wendigoon said, we'll eventually have to go to the movie theater to watch it.

If you're stepping into analog horror you should absolutely do the Monument Mythos by Mister Manticore the whole thing is extremely well done and more people need to watch it.

Analog horror is a bit of a bloated genre, but there's still so much good stuff. Mandela Catalog is one of the big ones and I'd love to see you react to more of it, especially since the videos get better in quality with every new entry. However, some other great analog horror series include Gemini Home Entertainment, White Stag Education, GREYLOCK, and Midwest Angelica.

Love this series; gets SO much better as it goes on, you have no idea. You actually sort of skipped ahead a little, though; there's a sort of prologue video in this series that was released earlier, called "Overthrone." It's not critical watching to get what's going on, but good for setting the mood and expectations. Also, highly recommend Night Mind's videos on the series. He does really great deep dives on web-based horror stuff like this, which is great because getting scared or creeped out means you often miss out on really cool foreshadowing, lore, hints, etc. that he's really good at presenting in an interesting way (also his voice is super soothing). He's also got great videos on Don't Hug Me I'm Scared and the SCP series!

I let out an audable "uh oh." after seeing this on my feed.

I know you were scared Alicia but I'd love to see more of you reacting to analog horrors and the Mandela Catalogue.

This isn't a analog horror but a good video to watch during the spooktober times is "Emesis Blue". It's a movie based on the TF2 Characters using SFM from the channel 'Fortress Films' , it's a psychological thriller. It's over a 100 minutes long but I couldn't recommended enough, it's truly amazing.

AND THE ANALOG HORROR BEGINS!!! I’m surprised you started with Mandela Catalogue. That is some S-Tier shit right there! I hope you check out Local 58 some time soon

If i could recommend some more analog horror i got 2 favorites: 1. Gemini Home Entertainment. Lots of corrupted home videos. Really creepy cosmic horror/John Carpenter angle. 2. Monument Mythos. Basically all national/global monuments are haunted. It gets crazy but it also has more of a comedic side.

Before you watch volume 2 you GOTTA watch overthrone, that shit is one of my favorite pieces of analog horror and it gives a lot of really weird but well needed context for the overarching story of the Mandela Catalogue.

As a white person, we typically WANT our house to be haunted. We hunt the ghost down, forcibly domesticate it, put various tiny hats on it, and take pictures for face book. My grandma had 3 ghosts!

I love that when she "killed herself", one of the first comments in chat was to grab the cheese. Like no concern for her, he understood the mission immediately.

I think the monotone might be implying that once the alternates showed up random tragedy is so routine it is t shocking. “Like yeah it was probably an alternate atttack so we are dead for sure, but hey…”

Fun Fact! The Intruder is an actual police sketch of a real person. :)

Alicia summoned her entire squad to help her through this. I have yet to use that ability once in my life.

When I saw the thumbnail and title I was hyped. Also something to note about the series is to also watch the shorter side episodes along with the main volumes so the story won't go over your head. Though that would be more scary videos to watch so I guess pick your poison. Side note to end on, probs my favorite video of the series is the vol 333. short follow up video "Every day gets brighter".

YES MANDELA CATALOGUE! Mandela Catalogue is one of my favorite horror series of ALL TIME, AND ALICIA IS REACTING TO IT!!!

by the way, there is a modern remake of this video due to develupments of the Mendela ARG.

So, something you might have missed. If Mark shot himself, who posted the video? And if someone else put up the video, that also means they were the ones to add those text blocks, like: "I don't want to see what's on the other side..." and "Nobody came for me." The best part? You fell for the trap. You believed this was all Mark and his friend, but it was the Alternate, posting up the video in their name, tricking you and mocking you, just as they mocked Mark before his death. Or such is the implication.

You know, I thought I was gonna have a hard time watching this again, but Alicia being an even bigger baby about it than me is honestly super soothing :')

Oh wow, I didn't realize you watched this, this is a really fun series. I recently got into you because of the anime stuff, but love this (Just like the backrooms, another series like this). By the way, have you considered reacting to songs or artists? I wanted to recommend Mili, a band which does interesting songs. The album "To kill a living book" is really good, and some of the separate songs like Between Two Worlds, Phantomcat of Meowloween (Halloween based!) and Ocean Bby to name a few. All great songs, all interesting imo.

To be fair, he wasn't lying. This will get you a ton of views.

There's a crazy thing on this called like "The Alternates" or something. A Dragon Ball fan has made a huge fan-fic (nothing bad) about the characters with inspiration from stuff like that they called it "The Others" crazy Horror stuff. Also there's Game Theories Ultimate FNAF Timeline 3 part videos. Halo has great shit like all of Halo Legends.
