I’m trying to watch everything you do, especially the parrying. Yesterday I started a new game, but I’m doing it on bitter for the first time. I hope watching this run will give me some insight on some strats..

Although it's under different conditions and a couple years old, my Blood Berry, Bitter, No Damage fights might also give some perspective (especially since this run has some decidedly beginner-unfriendly strats, like Henry): kzread.info/head/PLWiGDBCbRlC0zTpr6K3e4yXvq2t1OJcM3

Can I ask what the strat was for henry? Can you just mash lockon into attack in order to get the counter attack everytime?

It's a modified version of my NG+ Sweet Henry strat: on Bitter, I get the first full parry on the first hit of his combo, dodge roll slightly late after the parry is done (to avoid getting hit by the end of his combo), and then hit him a few times to force him to get back into the combo, keeping the loop of the fight as long as possible. This is not the fastest Henry strat, but it's something I came up with for consistency's sake (since it's such a long battle of endurance), though it's still reasonable fast enough. You definitely can't button mash the parrying to make it work (at least on Bitter); the timing for parrying is narrower on Bitter compared to Sweet, so button mashing is a good way to die quickly if you're not careful. That being said, I find it easy (after practice, mind you) to time since there's enough of a consistent groove in the combo loop. If you miss the first parry, it can be kind of risky to go for it again until his next combo, but it can work. On Sweet, the parry timing is more forgiving, and you could maybe get away with mashing lock-on to some extent. My NG+ Sweet/Mild Henry is a bit different (though based on the same principles), so check out one of those runs of mine if you want to see that approach.

I think you're talking about the parry: Press the lock-on button at the same time an enemy's attack collides with your katana, and then press A (slash button); if timed correctly on collision, you will hear a different sound effect and see a brief flash. This will cause a fully charged low stance attack without battery drain. The MK-III has three slashes, so you need to press the button three times.

@@AdrianVG7 Yeh I’ve figured out since then that the MK III has some different quirks to it. Thanks none the less :))
