The discrepancy with the max health and max combo length as the game goes on is because I didn't know the gym existed on my first playthrough.
Apologies for the lack of subtitles during some cutscenes, No More Heroes 1 (or at least the steam port) has a bug where they automatically disable after loading a save file.
