Platinum Games makes ridiculous and insanely fun games with stories that are lined with serious tones but doesn’t try to make the massive and complicated stories that Kojima is known for. They’re incredibly different games, But I think the MGS series needs more games like Revengeance.

Sam is the most epic person out of everyone in my opinion, the man had little changed to his normal human body. But the man still destroyed people that were like full out kitted with augments. What a boss of a man.

All these bosses has such great memorable personalities. Not just with the voice acting but especially the animations. So glad I’m playing through this.

Well I mean, it teaches you how to parry pretty well (and was the only way I could beat it) so it did good. Edit: so I got farther into the game, and realized that bladewolf was just the study, monsoon was the exam, A N D S A M I S T H E F I N A L S.

The concept of cutting things is cool but pretty gruesome by nature if applied to human oponents. Getting to chop up bosses at the end in anyway you wanted was incredibly satisfying in a very free yet kinda sick way, I loved it

Well, they were all cybernetic. The only exception is Blade Wolf who is eventually rebuilt, Armstrong who was nanomachines, son... and Sam who was human but wearing a power suit outside of his arm.

I just realized that you can technically go through the entire game not killing a single person of you don't hit their head. At 1:14 you can see that the cyborgs have a brain protective system, probably keeping the brain in a prolonged catatonic state, meaning that they can get decapitated and survive so long as the brain is undamaged. You can get through the game without actually killing anybody, excluding those in cutscenes like the Doctor in the lab, Jetstream Sam, and Senator Armstrong.

Jet stream had no cyborg enhancements except his arm, his suit is just an “armor” so he’s has no brain protection, Sam is dead, unfortunately, or else his sword wouldn’t unlock for the the Raiden vs Armstrong fight.

Charged attack + Jack the ripper mode, the scissors are insane if you managed to get it charger up, it can annihilate all of a bosses health sometimes. Oh yeah and parrying in revengeance difficulty does like 70% of the bosses health

This was my first MG game I played. Brings a tear to my eye remembering how much true fun and joy I had playing this game. If this game ever got a remaster I would not hesitate to buy and play it all over again. 😌

You notice that Raiden dodges a lot of hits by leaning back - but his chin grinds against the attack, glowing with heat. However, Sam dodges faster than Raiden does - his chin doesn't get hit by Blade Wolf's chainsaw, for example.

This game needs a remastered version is enough with better graphics and sounds, and of course fixing the camera angles 💁 But wish is still a wish 😥

Watching this with my headphones on and volume maxed was... an experience. The show was magnificent, far beyond anything my meagre skills can conjure.

I think that in Metal Gear, cyborgs need at the bare minimum their brains and their spines in order to function properly. Monsoon probably couldn’t separate his head from his chest because otherwise that would split his spine in two.

I noticed this during the video, the first half of the Metal Gear fight says 0 kills then the second half has 1 kill, nice touch to multiple part fights when you “beat” a boss, you can tell if the boss is done or not 43:55 I love how Jack stands next to Sunnerdowner while he proceeds to activitie his second phase

The boss fights are very cinematic and very fun to play. And if it isn't the boss fights that get me, it's the soundtrack that goes with it.

Wow I actually did not know there was another lq-84i on blade wolf's story and every single bit of it is cool A.K.A the hole video

When I first played I did it in hard mode and ignored the parry/block tutorial or anything else in there because I didnt care, but holy crap, blade wolf fight made me feel alive not knowing how to block, my heart was beating.

Yeah also when he kills Armstrong he says "Were done here" that voice actor can do a pretty damn good Jason Griffith impression if he was told to.

The "this isn't my sword" speech still does and always will generate fucking unreal amounts of hype.

I love the change in the healthbar HUD. It felt like we really transitioned from metal gear 4 to rising and that everything really has changed.

I still find the game's fascination with Raidens chin so weird, with Blade wolf or Armstrong he barely dodges and when he gets slapped across 10 meters of floor his chin's glowing red hot
