MalaMala Safari Moments: Episode 121
We find the Nkuhuma pride and a Northern Avoca male just as they catch two young buffalo. Then, we watch sub adults from the Kambula pride getting active.
...
From MalaMala Game Reserve to wherever you are in the world, we'll bring you moments from our daily safaris in one of Africa's most iconic private game reserves. This is essentially a continuation of our 'Rangers in Isolation' series which was filmed during the national Lockdown.

I love the Nkuhuma pride! I've been following them for 5 or 6 years now. I remember the loss of two cubs during the drought a couple of years ago. I never cried so hard in my whole life. It was during that drought that the pride became expert buffalo hunters. Unfortunately, because of the drought, lack of good grazing material and subsequent poor nutrition, all the buffalo had white muscle disease which in turn affected the lions, especially the smallest & weakest of them. It's miraculous to see them so hale & hearty, so healthy. Thank you so much for posting that sighting. I watch WildEarth and the Nkuhumas don't traverse Djuma as much as they used to. I'm profoundly grateful for your vid and to see them on the lovely Mala Mala property! The other sightings were lovely, too! I love to tell my friends that there are green pigeons. They don't believe me until I show them a vid/pic. Thanks for the proof! 👍🏻😊

Very lovely start such beautiful green pigeons. Always makes me extremely happy to the see Nkuhumas especially Purple Eye as she came in with her experience and took over and finished the kill. Also important to give thanks to the two buffalo. The Kambula subadults as we have been seeing the last few weeks growing in confidence and strength. Thanks Guys as Always.

Why is the video jumping around? After a minute and a half of birds and tree branches we get 2 lions with the buffalo down, then it jumps to a whole pride of lions, a bloody buffalo. There was obviously more to that encounter first its laying on the ground, then pinned to the tree, did the buffalo try to get up? Was it fighting, is that how it got pinned? This could've been an amazing video if it wasn't chopped up and edited! Is there a complete video of this encounter??
