Nissan Frontier budget overland build. Part 1 Installing a Nisstec Lift
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is the first part in the series of building my old Nissan Frontier into a winter camp/ overland rig. I start by installing a Nisstec spacer and shackle lift.

This is going to be a good one! Can't wait to see the progress on this.
Thank you sir! This great detail is much appreciated 👍👍
I like it! Something different! I had a d21 single cab with 235/85/16 and a rear locker, it was almost a goat! I had a calmini lift and steering, with a camper! This was 23 years ago, so it was high tech and just as capable as the jeep at the time!

Awesome! I always thought the Nissan hardbody was a cool truck, I bet it was nearly unstoppable with the locker !

It was very nimble and yes the rear locker would plow the truck through anything! In mud the truck was very light but with tall skinny tires it would find the bottom of the mud hole! The only thing is I wanted to keep my Lego wheels but I had to change them to get the 16" tires I wanted! 235 85 16 are badass for basic offroad and overland so I made that sacrifice!
The shop though 😍

The garage belongs to my parents and they only live about an hour away from me. It definitely makes some of these projects much easier!
If you havnt done wheels yet I reccomend just Plasti dipping or spray painting then matte black, I have the same wheels as you and it came out super well!

I hit a snag with the build and am having transmission issues (no reverse). I parked the truck until I get some time to look into it.

@@PoorMansParadise oh man, is it making any noise? I had that problem on a 1st gen frontier, if not it might be the switch that gets it to go into reverse when you move the shifter.

@@DonnieDeLo4577 no it’s not making any noise. It drives fine in drive. Fluid is clean, it’s not throwing any codes. Just feels like it shifts to neutral when you put it in reverse. I’ll have to check out the reverse switch !
You installed it backwards. You got 1/2 instead of 2/1. Lol. Kidding, nice tutorial.
How did the alignment turn out after this? Did you end up installing the bump stops you showed? Did you end up installing rear axle degree shims by chance?

The alignment went well. They got everything within spec and the truck handles decent. I skipped the bump stops for now and haven’t had any contact under normal driving but haven’t had it off-road yet. I would definitely recommend them if your doing any significant off-roading . It’s not a huge lift so I didn’t shim the rear axle and I don’t have any unusual vibration.

@@PoorMansParadise right on! Thank you so much for the response.
I'm looking to order a kit for my 2002 4x4 frontier. Any advice would be great

It really depends on what you want to use the truck for. If you’re spending a lot of time off-road I’d go with a better kit. That generation is getting a little tougher to find a lift for. I’d check www.4x4parts.com/c-1046832-suspension-lifts-lift-packages-frontier-1998-2004-frontier-suspension-lifts-packages-suspension-lifts-lift-packages.html
Hi nice job, whats the tickness of the front spacers in mm ?

I’m not sure. Here’s the kit I ordered. nissteclifts-com.3dcartstores.com/Top-Plate-SpacerShackle-Kit_p_392.html
does the spacer kit give you any coil bucket contact?

I haven’t had any but I haven’t done much off-roading with it either .
What state are you out of?
