My window is in the way of the door latch. Now that i took off the black bracket that held up the window. It dropped and im not sure how to access the door handle

Does that work for a 2008 Nissan Altima, I think that the ball came out of the ball.

I use packing tape to hold the window up. You don’t have to remove the glass, regulator is held up by glass. Undo all the black screws and the four silver screws and remove black panel. Follow key latch linkage and undo the yellow snap link at the bottom that holds it to the lock arm, that’s the hard part. You can see it buy peering through the same hole with the star (torx) screw that holds key latch in. A screwdriver can be used to push the snap open and slide the rod out. I use safety wire In the groove to hold the ball in tighter, twist is folded to keep it from rubbing. Thanks Theo Miti for showing the cable, ball, and latch!

Gangsta stick, your are so right. This person didn't show us how he open it up to get to the ball. That cable broke next to ball. Not fun at all when doing 2009 Rogue. The plastic cover is all solid black, meaning you see nothing inside. Took it apart (4 silver bolts) then I have another problem & made a window jumped tracks. At the moment the door handle still won't come out.. Any suggestions?

How do you know the ball came out before you take the door apart? If I move the handle to open the door. The metal bar that's connected to the ball moves normally. But I can't tell if it's actually put the groove.

I called Nissan and they want $500 plus tax to change the actuator. What a bunch of crooks. I want to attempt this myself, but it seems pretty complicated disassembling/reassembling that many parts. Also, this video doesn't show from start to finish. Let me know if you were able to fix it? Thanks!

Mine does work ( partially ) when I press the button from my driver side it does click open partially but not all the way . Any ideas ?

Is it possible that the inside door handle wire ball can fall out of the actuator itself? I see that my inside door handle is connected but it doesn't do anything, but the outside handle works. Also, my door does not lock even if I use the manual interior lock. I see it moving when I press the lock button. I have a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe, and it looks identical in the door.

I have an 03 maxima with the rod not the cables my issue is the locking mechanism won't move so it keeps the latch in the locked position and I'm not willing to break the door card. I've tried to force the open by using a pick tool or screw drive the space is very limited.

WHATEVER YOU DO, do not go into this with the mindset that the door handle cable ball 'only came off', i took my door apart only to discover the ball actually broke off. Secondly, there are no short cuts to fixing this, the window has to come out, that means separating the window from the regulator and taking it out before proceeding with removing the exterior door handle. i made the mistake of taking the regulator apart, it takes a while to figure out how to put it back together again. Do yourself a favor and watch a lot of videos before attempting this.

I have a problem with my driver door on my infiniti g35. Its stuck on lock and its stiff. the lock will not let me move it at all and it wont budge at all. However my passenger side i believe that it is just really weak because I can hear the door lock wanting to move but it doesn't want to so i believe that one right there is the actuator

I I believe I somehow pried open the top of the door where the window drops in and somehow got a metal rod or cost hanger to reach down in and pull the toggle that opens the door. It should be a ball you pull on and it opens up. Sorry I couldn’t be more help. I have since sold the car. I can tell you this was one of the most pain in the ass problems I have ever had on a car.

Wow! I think you just saved me some money. I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra SL and my key fob can't open the driver side door. I keep getting a buzzing sound when I try to open the door. i don't think you need to buy anything if that's the problem.it has happened twice to me and the last time i made the ball grove pocket a little tide so it won't slide out anymore.it is about an hour work , you have to take the door down, the window and take the actuator off.i think $65 is fair enough if you can't do it yourself.

Thanks. The freezing whether does disconnect the cable from that latch you're showing, but it does it inside the door panel at a different connector on the lower latch. What happens is moisture freezes that cable at the bottom on a lift arm that's connected to the door handle by a metal wire. When the latch and cable freeze together, the lifting action of the door handle pulls on the wire that pulls on the latch that is supposed to slide over the cable but accidentally pull the cable up when it shouldn't and the pressure of the cable snaps it out of the door handle. @@amadeoheron5948 I had the same problem on my front passenger door and I had to remove the front seat to get the door panel off.

Theo, you probably didnt fix the problem, WHY is it comming out, i have put that ball back 3 times now, keeps popping out. I believe the cable has stretched too much and causing slack in it, which causes the ball to pop out. Unfortunately the only fix is to replace the actuator which has new cables attached. Has yours pop put since this video? Thanks

I got the panel areas off but then couldn't figure out how to access the ball or remove the handle. I'm assuming it's behind the outside door handle in the top corner.
