  Thank you so much for this information on the ball coming out of the holder. I had this problem passenger rear door and it was exactly what you described. Took the door panel off and replaced the ball back into the holder, job done, saved a fortune in garage costs, well done and thank you. Keep up the good work with your videos,,,, Andy

  If your door won’t open, you can also just wiggle the outside door handle, then it’ll open.

  Thanks. The freezing whether does disconnect the cable from that latch you're showing, but it does it inside the door panel at a different connector on the lower latch. What happens is moisture freezes that cable at the bottom on a lift arm that's connected to the door handle by a metal wire. When the latch and cable freeze together, the lifting action of the door handle pulls on the wire that pulls on the latch that is supposed to slide over the cable but accidentally pull the cable up when it shouldn't and the pressure of the cable snaps it out of the door handle.   Dude, I washed my car on Monday at -17 ( fucking dummy) had a luck opening it a few times before, but came Wednesday i cannot open the door from the outside. Wtf

  Does anyone know what the part is called that the ball fits into. the little port where the ball sit is broken. the ball can't attach to pull the cable up to work the latch
