I run a 50/2 on my s2 and a 105/2.5 on my an F when doing documentary stuff. Especially when events are going on, its nice to have the option. The ultimate setup would be 2 rangefinders with a standard an wide, supplemented by an SLR and a telephoto.

always enjoy your thoughts on Nikon rangefinder cameras and lenses. not nearly as popular as Leica, but every bit as enjoyable.

Indeed! I just wish I had more call to use this lens. Now that I have covered my Nikon collection I might have to start seeing what Canon has to offer😉

This lens is a merciless sharp, fantastic piece of glass !! The SP is beyond any doubt anyway 😁

The 105 mm f 2.5 Nikkor lens is a 72 year old classic, it was highly lauded in 1951 when it was introduced and holds its own even today. It is much more usable in its SLR Nikon F version.

I think it looks better than most modern zooms at a comparable range.

Hi, not a question for this video but regarding the Nikon SP, if you dont mind. I just bought one :D and it is in a really good condition . There is one problem I noticed with it though. When you forward advance the film and are ready for the next shot, the shutter release button is stuck and the film advancer is also stuck. But if I jerk the lever a bit it gets loose and I can take the next shot.(not using any force when jerking it) I wonder if this is a common problem and what can cause it.

Can't say I have encountered this. I would suggest checking to make sure the cuff around the the shutter is set to 'A' not 'R.'

@@andrewsmithphoto Oh no, thats not the problem. It can be fine for 10 frames and then it starts to happen, and then fine for a while again. I guess the best idea is to find someone that do rapairs on these cameras and check the mechenical parts. Thanks for a great channel btw :)

Sounds like it could be a problem with an internal gear, cleaning could likely remedy the issue. Having a skilled repairman look at the camera is probably the best bet.
