It's hard to imagine that the modern doctor era first began nearly two decades ago. 19 years ago (26/3/2005), the first episode 'Rose' of Doctor Who, revitalising the then dying Doctor Who era. With the start of a new Doctor Who era upon us (the 'streaming' Who) with the 15th, I wanted to make an edit going back down memory lane. Eccleston's portrayal for me is one of the most memorable- Russel T Davies was able to write one of my favourite plot devices for protagonists: The theme of the hero becoming, in the process of eradicating evil and the Daleks, the very thing they swore to destroy. I hoped this tribute helps show some of the best moments from Season 1, with some accompanying flashbacks of the Time War.
