@@thriftraider don't worry I found out there is the only problem is that you already need a Nintendo id that is coupled with an EU registered switch. Luckily if you call the EU service they will do it for you.

how to do 2nd option, if you bought used one, on website you need to login in with same account as its on your switch to get masterkey...?

Just wanted to say thank you so much I was able to do the Second method and it worked just fine on switch lite. Now I can fix the joystick and gave it to my daughter.

I'm assuming, but I imagine this would work anywhere. Switch's are Region Free.

enter the password incorrectly until it says to wait 30 minutes then press help, it should show the screen in the video

Yes, you either need a credit/debit card or you can just get a gift card from a shop.

@@abyssgold4370 Is there not a box that says I Agree under it? Make sure you click Switch first.

The second method worked for me, I am from Mexico and I selected the United States option, I only had to put a valid postal code from there, thank you very much for your video, I thought that I could not unlock a nintendo switch that I bought used. You should make a video only explaining the second method, I was looking for a solution for a long time and everywhere they said that it cannot be unlocked, until I found your video.

Get onto nintendo chat or call customer support. It shouldn't cost you anything and takes a few minutes. I just did this the other day. Note that the master key generatedwill only work with a specific inquiry number. If you navigate away on the switch and get a different inquiry number, the master key you got the first time round will not work.

You don't need it for the Switch. For the other consoles, maybe it says it in the settings.

damn it. as soon as i saw the mkey website i knew from that point that i was never gonna get my parental lock removed. previous videos showed this method and it's been nothing but: "Your master key could not be calculated." i think it's because i'm not tall and white.

Sorry, I was disappointed too when mkey didnt work. Only other way to find a device number is by hacking it, which can be a lot of work.

I'm having the same issue. The picture with the woman and enter master key underneath is not popping up. Its just not there? I was given the switch but it is linked to a phone app. Thing is i have no access to that. Did you sort your issue out ? I do see an option to unlink app, not at home now but if i press that it might just look for the password id say ?
