Any ideas how to do this when the switch is linked to a Parental Control App? So far i cannot do it at all?

I believe you can do it even it is linked to the app.
so, if you are in canada (example) would it not work if you used the UK website?

I think it is bounded to the location of your account. Maybe you can try make a european account?
