I watched COUNTLESS KZreadr influencers give me their hot take on the Switch Lite v Switch v Switch OLED. Many, many of them said the switch lite was worthless etc. I purchased the switch lite and I can safely say it’s an amazing handheld console and I’m very glad I bought it. I already have a PS5 so I didn’t want a console to hook to the tv. I like being able to be anywhere and play. Don’t listen to influencers guys, do what you want! Display is brilliant, sound is brilliant. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Yeah, the screen on the lite or Garbage but it’s MUCH more comfortable to be a handheld than the OLED. I primarily game on my PC so I just wanted a handheld to play games like Zelda or Pokémon, the regular switch is too large and heavy to be playing in handheld mode for over 30-40 minutes.

Just brought one, we've come so far since the gba I grew up with. Kinda crazy
I own a Switch Lite for three reasons: 1) It's a supplemental console; I already own a Series S, gaming PC and Steam Deck. 2) It was affordable and I didn't see the need to splurge when I already had current-gen hardware. 3) I've replaced four sets of Joy Cons on my son's Switch; I don't like how easy it is to damage the rails on the Joy Cons. Altogether, I've had a great experience with my Switch Lite and I play it every day.

How about drift now?
I got my switch about last may. Went with the lite because I knew I was using it for portable gaming. I really like that it was solid unit without removable joycons.

If they came out with an OLED Lite, with better battery and a kickstand (for if you wanted to connect an external controller to play in tabletop mode)…that would be my dream machine. Playing my OLED in handheld mode, the joycons always feel like they are going to break off. I love that the Lite is a solid unit, but I also hate the joysticks on all of the switch units.

I like my oled but i would love a nintendo switch lite oled model as i loved my lite along some accessories for it. I sold it and kind of regret it but i debate whether i should get a lite again. Personally would love a switch lite oled model with some things you said but also better thumbstick and larger screen stretched out a bit more.

Switch OLED w/DS type OLED Hinge Screen when? 👀
Perfect thank you! We have two Xboxes in the house already and I was just deciding which switch to get for my birthday but I didn’t really want to spend a fortune and was initially going to just get the lite as it was a handheld I was after to play animal crossing etc when out and about but then someone mentioned the OLED and I got confused… I’m so glad I saw this! Convinced my initial decision was the right one and I’ve just ordered the yellow lite and a cute animal crossing case!
I love having both and find myself grabbing the Lite when I just want to play something quickly to pass the time. Just wish the battery life was better in the Lite.

Excellent video. Resonates with old time gamers. Lite variant is the way to go
Switch lite fitting in the pocket is pretty awesome, but sometimes I want a bigger screen. Hopefully they make the Switch lite exactly the same, but get rid of the bezel and really push the screen to the edges of the shell. Higher risk of breaking the screen, but that's a risk I'm willing to make.

I just bought a Switch Lite and I'm really enjoying it. I bought it used for $100, and I can honestly say it's probably one of the best investments that I've made as far as a console.
I just swapped from my switch v1 to an oled recently. For a better battery life and I liked the bigger screen idea. I'm just used to big screens and weight in handheld because of my tablet and switch v1. I don't bring my switch out of home very often. When I'm on vacation trips for a week, I do many other things. So at home is the only place I play, most of the time.
watching this upon stepping into 2024, getting a Lite now
I definitely missed the boat on having a Switch. Would love to play Pokémon. Great video!
If i was looking into getting into gaming i would consider between Switch Lite and Steam Deck to start, but ultimately i would want both. Im about to live on the road for a year or two and the portability and low power is going to come in handy.
I enjoyed ur video. It helped me decide on what to get ❤. Happy gaming

Does it have drift
This is a really good review, its alot better than any other that ive seen
I was very tempted in getting the Oled, i currently have the Switch Lite and the regular Switch. I tend to use the bulky Switch docked at home with the tv. I like the Switch Lite better because it feels more compact and portable! I always play it in tabletop mode with the Pro Controller, it feels alot more comfortable that way! It's good to get the Oled if you don't have a Switch at all, otherwise it's just a cash grab if you already have a Switch.
I definitely agree, handheld definitely focuses more on the game and playing the game. Especially long games like Zelda and Pokémon
I’ve decided the switch lite after all the switches I’ve tried out. As much as I love the OLED for dock mode I love the comfort feel of the lite and how vibrant the colour is, I got yellow personally and I love it.
I went with the v2 simply because of that option to dock and play on a bigger screen. Obviously it looks more crisp on the small screen, but hey, the Switch's selling point was a home console that you can take with you everywhere so I really wanted to have that option available. 😁 Plus, playing sports games with someone is a lot easier on the big screen too. I do like the form factor of the lite, though. Especially the yellow one.
Bought my switch lite last october and for handheld gaming I think it is the better choice, I would've loved the oled's bigger screen but I don't have a tv in my dorm so I'd just be paying more for an unusable dock.
I appreciate your take on the different Switch models. Personally, I ended up getting the red box Switch in September of 2021.. I had two reasons for it. The first reason was obviously I wanted to be able to play on the TV, but the fact that i could take it out of the dock and keep playing in handheld mode was really awesome. There have been times where i would bring it to bed with me to play a while longer before putting it to the side for the night. Second reason was out of anticipation for Metroid Dread, even tho the OLED Switch was actually releasing the same day as Dread, i kinda didn't want to pay any more money than i already was, and I felt the OLED model wasn't necessary for me. As for the Switch Lite, even though it's neat that it's an option, I just don't think I would have been as satisfied with it as I am with my red box Switch.
I agree I personally want to go back to the dedicated home console / handheld days. I don't necessarily think: Successful Nintendo hybrid console = hybrid is better. The switch has just had some spectacular games.
Well said. Nintendo and handlheld go hand in hand. Got a switch lite and gave my red box switch to my sister. Loving the lite more. Just wish there was a way to improve the battery
Got the Lite couple of months ago. Loving it so far. Recently also bought a pair of joy cons and I really enjoy the rumble and the local co-op mode so I was wondering if I should get another regular Switch, or maybe sell the Lite and get the OLED model or just stick with my Lite... I'm so confused, I want them all! 😂

Yeah get a normal switch and keep the switch lite. It'll hurt a little at first to shell out the money but in a few months you'll have two nice things and hopefully won't be feeling the financial burden of the choice as badly
I think I'll get the OLED,I already have a lite, but since I use a pro controller with it,it's hard to get in a comfortable position, so at least with the OLED,I can dock it or use the kickstand.
The Switch lite is great for portable play, but for me, the screen is too small for some games (text is REALLY tiny). The OLED with the 7” screen doesn’t seem that much bigger, but it makes a HUGE difference for me, as I like to play a lot of turn based tactics games on the Switch. However, the light is a more portable console.

Coming from gba and Nintendo ds the switch lite screen looks massive to me
I had the original switch on release date and stopped playing it a while back during the pandemic. I ended up selling it along with all the games, accessories etc. Then recently I started missing my Nintendo games, once they announced the Super Mario Movie, and that the switch will have access to the N64 games, that pushed me into getting a switch so bad again. I ended up buying this new switch lite in blue, along with all my old games and some new ones. Feels like I’m playing my game boy all over again.
I got a Lite early 2020 & still love it!

i have a v2, and i just bought a switch lite a day ago i dont regret buying it. the screen is better, and i got the pleasure and feeling of excitement like playing the PSP for the first time
I know what you mean! I have a redbox Switch but I got the chance to buy a Lite at a really low price (cuz why not?) and I can't put the thing away! The weight distribution is way better and the buttons feel really nice. At first I thought the smaller screen would be a bit annoying but it's not at all, I don't even notice the difference. I wanted to re-sell it at first but I don't know if I can... I love my new banana way more than I thought I would. *It's official name is "Mikillgur" (the big yellow) but I just call it "The Banana"
I'm actually pretty happy with the regular switch for portable use but I do wish the joycons had a D pad. I know there are options for that but still. If they released an OLED switch lite I'd be tempted to grab one though I think.

I gotta say I've been using the mClassic with my Switch docked to a 1440p monitor since you posted a video about it almost a year ago and I don't regret my purchase. I would have 100% gotten behind the Switch Lite if it were dockable, and I might have given it a pass if it were not dockable but at least had HD Rumble. But in my opinion, you just lose too much in exchange for that $100 discount. Considering what it's missing, I think the Switch Lite should be priced at $150.
Found myself missing my lite i like the dpad, the mush of the buttons, the feel of the finish and feels more comfy.
I agree. The Switch Lite calls to me to. Mainly it's the d pad for me and the only way to play Hollow Knight - handheld with a d pad.
this video is 8 month old but i have to say this, I've been a pc gamer since my dreamcast died in 2003, and I wanted to go into the switch, but i couldnt afford one at the time, 2 month ago an opportunity arose, and I could not get an oled or standard but i had enough for the lite, and it has been such a great experience, also I've seen that no ones takes into account the weight, im a technician, so i've handled all 3 switch, and the standard and oled are just too heavy if you're playing in bed, so for me, the lite is the perfect handheld, now putting this aside, im starting to wonder if i can get an oled, because im loving the console so much that i might want to have the dock option too
Love my Lite! I bought it recently to play the latest Nintendo exclusives, but ended up playing _The Witcher 3_ on it more than on Steam.

As an owner of all 3 Switch consoles as well as a Steam Deck. I prefer the Switch Lite for travel. I play the OLED handheld at home for Nintendo in house games and indies. Steam Deck for harder to run games. The Switch Lite is amazing for indies on the go. I have a tb card in mine with tons of indies.
I absolutely love my Switch Lite. I use it mostly at work or in bed and I don't really enjoy playing on the TV, so it was an easy choice. I even got a little stand and the PDP Little Wireless Controller and it all fits into one little bag and sets up anywhere. Also, the color is adorable.

I had a switch lite a few years ago before switching to the oled, now i just scored a switch lite with a glacier blue clear shell, so im deciding to make that my main switch, then selling my oled before the value of it plummets with switch 2 right around the corner. I literally like, NEVER use my dock. I used it for a day or two when TOTK came out and thats it, so downsizing and no dock isnt an issue for me, the only thing ill miss is the OLED screen. Its just so nice, but I do have a oldschool PS Vita OLED that i can stare at
I still prefer either the Original or the OLED - can do both using a TV and handheld gaming, but the Lite can only do the latter.

Not sure how the lite feels, but I just got the regular model and I hate the feel of it in handheld mode. It feels cramped and heavy. I fully expected to enjoy it in hand held mode, but only play on the docked mode with the pro controller.
I love your hoodie. Bear Coast Coffee ? Can't find this model on web
I copped the original switch back in 2017, traded it in for a Mario edition sometime in 2021. The oled was released and I got that. Loved the display and how vibrant the games looked…but I had no clue how bad both(maybe exaggerated a bit) these options were as a handheld option until I copped the switch lite at the beginning of this month. The size is PERFECT…I do more gaming handheld in bed than I ever did with my other switches. The portability for the lite is a 10/10. I’m a medic and I throw this in my bag along with a battery pack to play animal crossing and super Mario 3d world in between calls. I’ve gotten further in games just because of how portable this thing is. I still use both my other switches in dock mode 80% of the time. Typically when I wanna game in a bigger screen and use an actual controller. Sometimes I play the OLED in handheld mode but not for long. I always find my wake back to the switch lite for my handheld needs. Extremely underrated and I will say I for sure slept on this when it was released in 2019!

My only Nintendo console was the DS, and I never have any other ever since. My DS is still working but some of the buttons aren’t working properly ( due to me being a very very hardcore gaming girl). Probably next Christmas I’ll be able to buy my own console with my own money and I am so excited for that day to come, after watching many reviews online….I’d probably get the Nintendo Lite…and who knows maybe there may be a new console release later, but I’ll probably get something like the Lite, docking will probably be rare for me cuz I work away from home and I want something easy to carry I know we’re not discussing a Steamdeck but I’m a casual player so Nintendo will be good for me, I just wanted something different after playing mobile games on my phone
I bought and still use a v2 Switch with the better battery life back in 2019. And I have no regrets making that purchase. The battery life has remained consistent in spite of being over 3 years old, and I feel like I bought it at the perfect time given the pandemic that was about to emerge. On top of this, my joy cons still haven’t drifted. But that is likely because I have a carrying case for the console.
I was tossed between the 3 consoles but I've actually made up my mind to get the oled Switch. I'm going to get it when I get back from vacation. Me personally I love the bigger screen and the rich oled battery life and better memory. But the lite Looks very decent as well but the problem is when the lite starts having stick shift problems you're basically out of luck you can't replace the joy cons and that's one of the biggest reasons why I don't want to pick up the lite me personally. But I do enjoy your perspective
I didn't have a portable console since the gameboy color. Went from pc gaming to the nintendo switch lite. Honestly, being able to carrying it out and play pokemon games like in the old days just feels amazing. Plus, I don't need to wait till I get home to play monster hunter either. The experience for old timers like me won't disappoint. If you're worried about the nintendo e-shop shutting down after the next gen console, just buy the physical games. They're actually cheaper.
I got the switch lite as my first switch. It's actually pretty handy. It doesn't weight much, doesn't take much space, which makes it easy to carry. Been using the switch lite for 2 years now. Finally decided to upgrade and get a switch oled.
I have both the switch lite and a Oled and I use my switch lite more but I love the crisp resolution of the Oled
Honestly all I want the switch for is the handheld experience I want to get something to play while I’m on a long bus ride to school and I’ve got my ps5 when I get home so this would be perfect
i bought the switch back in 2017 but sold it 2 years later to buy a new pc, i currently have the lite version and i have no regrets, i think if u want a switch these days u should buy the lite version because i think nintendo will be releasing a new console in 1-2 years
I got the original Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite. Planning to get the Nintendo Switch OLED Pokemon Edition
Just recently got the lite and OBSESSED, I have a V2 red box normal Switch as well and I have never been this attached to it, I hope the Switch Lite gets some homebrew/jailbreak softmodding in the future, this console has so much potential on top of the shell mods to make it look even cooler, anyone reading this not knowing which one to get go with the Lite (unless you're a streamer or play on TV) go for the reg.

I switched, pun intended, to Oled from lite because my right hand was cramping in games that used the trigger a lot. Haven’t had this problem since I switched to an Oled and mainly use the pro controller while playing. Mostly this happened while playing Pokemon Unite and Monster Hunter. If you play games that use the triggers, long term use of the lite is not an option.
The Switch Lite is a great device even in 2023. For me it was a gateway device. I’m a Xbox player but wanted to get a taste of Nintendo. I enjoyed the Switch Lite so much I upgraded to the OLED version and it now sits proudly next to my Xbox
I gotta Series X so that’s gonna be hooked up to my TV 24/7 and I do miss having a Switch Lite so I’m pretty much sold back on getting it for work or while I’m just sitting around at home
The price point was a huge factor for me when I bought a lite a few months ago. I Have a PS5 and a decent gaming laptop so the $200 price point was a lot easier to take in knowing I was mostly playing exclusives on the switch and that it would be essentially my 3rd place system.

I actually prefer the switch light. I owned the standard switch , and honestly, I thought it was too big in the hand……I prefer the light!

Im getting switch lite as it meets my criteria for handheld gaming portable and affordable. Will be getting ps5 slim for home.
The switch doesnt need extra power to run at full speed. It needs better cooling. Some people replace the thermal paste with pc grade paste and it runs a good bit better
I'm going with the Switch Lite as i only want to play a few games mostly Mario and Zelda titles, i also really want a dedicated handheld system. I have thought about playing on the TV but Joy Cons are pricey and No one in my family would use the switch. I have looked gameplay solely in handheld and the Lite looks fine, MK8 looks GREAT, BOTW still plays well and Odyssey it very vibrant as the screen is smaller the 720p looks very crisp the sound quality on each also is very good. An Average of 4hrs is good for a secondary or tertiary console i don't need to be on if for long but the official site says it can last for 7hrs. Additionally I already have a Series S and plan to get a Slim PS5 if it releases. However I'm kinda on the fence as They could make a OLED and the Switch 2 may have a Lite model too but with how long it may take to come out and the fact i want to play on the switch now, i'm likely going to pull the trigger by this year.
4:12 actually massively off if you consider that the 360 and the ps3 outperformed the switch, what does this mean this means the systems where able to output steadier frame rates with higher details. Everything runs on the switch, sometimes the witcher dips down to the teens in fps and sub 480p in combat, all that said i am thinking about getting one to play before i sleep. The games are genuinely fantastic and relaxing. mario vs cod, zelda vs spec ops the line. It was a ground breaking handheld and confusingly under-powered when considered as a competitive console in the market at the time. I genuinely consider getting a steam deck to play switch games as they run better on it.
i kind of just wish the switch lite had full size sticks. The only reason i got the normal switch was so i could change the joycons for split pad controllers. I like the lite form factor but I like the customisability of the normal switch.
