Flpstrike I first bought my switch in 2018. It was a brand new original switch I got on eBay on sale for Black Friday at $230, which was a steal compared to every other retailer at the time. I got it for Smash, of course, so in addition to the $230, I spent $60 on the game, $80 for a second set of joy cons, I think $40-$60 on a GameCube adapter, another $20 for some Chinese knockoff GameCube controllers, and $20 for Nintendo online. All together, I spent roughly $450-$470 and that’s not including tax and whatever games I downloaded first because I can’t remember them. Even at that severe Black Friday discount, the switch was pretty expensive to get started.

Matt Muttley Unless you plan on traveling with it, I wouldn’t bother. I have a big switch I keep at home without a screen protector and it’s just fine if not a little smudgy. This comment doesn’t really matter because a screen protector is pretty inexpensive, but if you’re like me who spent nearly $500 getting a new switch and various accessories, it might make a difference.

@@Ckoz2829 the one time I didn’t put my switch in case…something happened and “screen” cracked but when I peeled my screen protector of the real screen was fine, so I’d have been screwed otherwise lol Basically you can be careful with it and stuff but you never know when sh*t happens so doesn’t hurt to have the extra protection

For an optional accessory for the Switch Lite, I would suggest the "Anker PowerCore Nintendo Switch Edition". It makes sense for people that are commuting and aren't near an outlet.

i've never liked nintendo but i bought the switch lite because i felt it was a true portable experience and i think i wasn't wrong. I love the goddamn thing. i've had it for about a year and there are times in which i don't touch my ps4 for months like at all. A beautiful investment if you've never played anything nintendo has to offer and with tue new ports of the past generation games and some of this one, man, the experience is just awesome. Thanks for the recomendations for accesories

For my accessories I decided on the MoKo silicone grip case which fits in the HORI slim case, you just have to put it backwards. Then I have a generic aluminum stand for when I have a controller connected, which is the Sn30 Pro+. Hands down that controller has been my favorite accessories purchase. I could make do with any case or stand, but that controller is just absolutely amazing!

I mean, he lives in the US. I assumed that pulling a gun to shoot your stuff was pretty normal

Nope. For one thing, there are noise laws or people who would call the police depending on where you lived, for another, owning a gun isn't nearly as common as people outside the US seem to believe, lastly, that would get expensive. Shooting guns isn't a cheap hobby.

I agree that US citizens are a lot more diverse and dynamic than many seem to assume though. In other countries, citizens are often a lot more homogeneous in terms of ethnicity and culture.

I got my carrying case for my switch lite back when the lite first came out and there wasn’t any cases for it yet. I ended up getting a case for the switch and, so far, is working great. I can even store two joy cons in the zippered pouch without any problem. It’s a tiny bit bulky but it gets the job done

I have replayed the first 12 seconds about 50x thank you!

The start+select button combination on the Zero 2 works as a ZL for me, it opens the phone in animal crossing. A little known feature is that you can also make the dpad work as either stick or the dpad itself, though swapping them is a bit slow so it's not very useful for complex gameplay.

The things i got when i got my switch lite was a nice cover for the switch with a built in kick stand. I also got a screen protector (obvs) and a case with a usb, thumb stick covers of red blue and black, and with mario odyssey. It is very epic.

I have had my switch lite for a about a week now. I bought a clear case for it but now I want a stand for it so I may buy that. The mini controller is cute but I don’t think I would like playing with it. Thanks for all the options 😊

I have the Flip cover case and I love it. It’s just so sleek and lightweight. I can play with it on. It also helps grip wise, it just feels good in the hands. I’ve had the switch lite for 4 months. I got the flip cover with it and I’d say 2 or 3 times while playing (MK11) it got hot with the flip cover on. I have the grey switch lite so it doesn’t look amazing but hopefully a skin will make it pop more.

I was actually looking for controllers for my switch lite. I have that simple grey cover. It's no longer 40 bucks - half that, and comes with a pretty heavy duty screen protector. I like it because the lid is sturdy enough if my hands slip off the switch it'll still catch on my fingers and not drop the switch.

I've been really happy to hear you're doing another look at the switch's power delivery. hopefully there's been progress since last year, but as someone who needs a new dock amidst the current mess, itd be nice to possibly get a better idea what to invest in.

The aluminum switch stand at 4:40 is an Omoton stand. I have not been able to find a link to purchase them on Amazon any longer, though, the product page is still there. Decent looking stand, their website shows it's just under $10 USD.

That's a great idea! I also recommend a screen protector, and maybe a Bluetooth controller! It doesn't have to be a pro controller there is other cheaper options!

They have those aluminum stands at 5 below and they work with my switch. Not that you can really go there right now, but it's cheap.

3:50 - at this point, I think it's safe to say "just don't buy non-Nintendo docks made during the first year of its life." From what I can tell, there hasn't been any reports of bricked Switch units being a problem in the past couple of years. All of the reputable manufacturers of Switch docks knows what happened and made sure they're not bricking Switches. Unless some new info has recently surfaced, I don't think there's much to talk about anyways.
