a very obscure but very interesting piece of technology. the 64DD was an addon for the 64 that played games on floppies. it could even connect to the internet via a service called Randnet... back then. there were no memorable games aside from the mario artist series (if you could even consider those games) and a few japanese exclusives. it failed. I'm not surprised honestly. there were supposed to be more ports of existing N64 games and some games that were meant to release for the 64DD went to cartridge like Mario RPG 2 (Paper Mario), Ultra Donkey Kong (DK64), Pokémon Snap & Stadium 1 & 2, Kirby 64, and Zelda 64 & Gaiden (released as Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask respectively). hell it was supposed to have a Mario 64 port and sequel, as well as a release in the US.
There have already been uploads of this startup online, but most of them are not really that good imo (sorry) so now here it is in glorious 4K... in its original resolution
