I was actually about to ask if there was a way to donate without some site taking a % of it. I had never heard of ko-fi until just now, and I'm glad they don't take any cuts. Drum & bass/Jungle was very popular in the 90s which is probably why a lot of games soundtracks from that time sound like an ecstasy club mix

@@Aeoxmusic see, you learn something every day! As for the transitions, its not just about the key, theres much more to harmonic content and some tracks even in the same key can sound very off when mixed together. Give this guy some credit, he has done a great job mixing these.

Honestly, I was confused why this was called a N64 mix when I didn't recognize any of the games it was from at first. I thought they were just good standalone drum & bass songs. The good music got me to stay long enough to figure out it actually is from the console and games I've played lol.

It’s aged remarkably well but it was much cleaner sounding than the dnb tracks of the time. It was kind of hard to take it seriously too because it was a video game soundtrack. It was about placement and context - tracks needed DJs to play them to gain legitimacy. The cues for what made a track fit within a scene can also be very subtle and difficult to differentiate in retrospect. Music scenes were very rigid in the 90s, similar for hiphop beats on video game soundtracks in the 90s - they have aged well listening today but at the time they sounded cheesy. There are lots of rap acts on Spotify that never made it in the 90s, it’s hard to remember they sounded like pale imitations of big artists of the time because some of the tunes are quite good and give the same nostalgia value. Coming back to these tunes I think the lack of direct comparison to tunes of the time, convergence of genres and less rigid genre boundaries have helped this sound fresh today.

Not only N64! Many 90's games in general had DnB/Jungle influence, take a listen to some PS1 games here in timestamps: 0:22; 15:15; 29:36; 1:07:16 kzread.info/dash/bejne/nqedzsdvfaSYgbg.html&ab_channel=NewGamePlus Ape Escape is particularly one of the most Dnb/Jungle influenced games that I know.

This mix flows from track to track so well, it's actually nuts. Glad I stumbled on it, it deserves wayyyy more views.

Bomberman Hero was so cool. I grew up with an older brother who was a DJ at the time so the soundtrack really appealed to me. The composer (a Japanese woman) is still proud of her work and regularly listens to remixes of her work from Bomberman Hero.

I have loved this game since 4th grade. Hero's soundtrack is perfect for tripping or smoking or driving. I like clean to it as well.

The transitions from one song to the next are so damn good.
