I agree. In my opinion graphics are 3rd on the list of what makes a game. The list is: 1. Game-play. 2. Plot. 3. Graphics. People really need to realize that graphics are not as important as game-play.

I think it really depends on the focus of the game. Genres that specifically focus on graphics can have gameplay be secondary but still have great games.

One of my favorite 3DS games, but WAY too easy. I beat it in 1 day. It's very generous with the extra lives.

Just speedrun it mate. Has nearly infinite replay value. It’s the most fun speedrunning game I’ve ever had. Trust me, once you get the basic hang of the any% or 100% runs, you’ll be playing this game for thousands of hours.

This game seriously deserves more attention, same goes for other 3ds games

I always really loved it when a Mario game let me shrink really small and run on water. I can't wait to do that again (and fly as a raccoon, but that's an obvious given).

Actually, Nintendo added a great effect in the background of the music in World 1-1. When you get the game, hear for yourself!

Compared to the Coin SFX in Super Mario 3D Land and World, the coin SFX in the New Super Mario Bros series sounds more satisfying to me...dunno why...

Damn. When I saw this trailer, it really made me want to get this game! Previous trailers made the game seem like a slightly different version of the past one, but this trailer really shows off the new coin and gold aspect better, as well as shows off the brilliant level design. It might not be the unique and original Mario game I have been wanting, but now really excited to pick up this game!

I was only 9 when this trailer came out. And I remember being so excited for it, and on my 10th birthday, I got the game and a red Nintendo 3DS XL

Personally, I find this game to be the worst in the New Super Mario Bros. series. That doesn't make it bad, it just makes it the worst out of 4 games. This one feels like they added the least number of new things. It feels like they want to remake Super Mario Bros. 3 and make a new game at the same time. As fun as the game was, I would have liked to see more powerup variety than just re-purposing the old powerups. This game just seems to be a rehash with little to no changes. Much like CoD.

...nah. I honestly think that New Super Mario Bros. U is the worst in the series. There's nothing that's actually "new" about that game besides the flying squirrel suit and different themed music. The straightforward walking instead of the sideways walking came from the last 3 games, the effects came from New Super Mario Bros. Wii and the newer villians don't do anything for me. The Switch version did a way better job but the fact that the game was a launch title is why I don't and can't take that game seriously.

no, yes i do, as i said it has extra effects. like for example the theme you hear in all new super mario bros themes is here it only it sounds higher in here and the "aah aah" is like its being sang by kids. or like in the haunted house theme, you also here "aah aah" more often. look its not enough to make it feel different, but those effects are enough to tell to which game the soundtrack belongs to. besides i have seen some recent gamelay videos and they actually use that music.

I hope the mega mushroom is used more in this game because in the first one there was only like five levels that I remember that the mega mushroom came out a power block.

Can't wait for this game!!! I won't get the 3DS XL till later, but I am still excited for this game.

For me I can take both. I love those levels where you can breeze through. And difficulty also brings up the epic meter by a lot for me. Both are equal in satis.. 3D land is a sort of balance for both. During the first few worlds I felt like I was becoming the true meaning of a speed runner and during the last levels (special) I felt accomplished in going so far and actually beating the level after 38 deaths. I admit the game is and I quote "soulless" by me and my friends. It's still fun though.

I hope so to! And I hope they bring the cape feather back.

i know how you feel. but at the end of the day i am still very grateful that they are still making super mario side scrolling games which are the best in my opinion. play to pass the time, and there arent much games on the 3DS. even though they arent as challenging and unique as the older ones like bros deluxe or mario advance 2

The leaf is what makes me want to buy the game. I am a huge Super Mario Bros. 3 fan and I got so excited when that being brought back.

With all those coins, they ought to extend the coin meter by an extra 0 or so, leaving in the 100 coins to the life and an added bonus for hitting 1000 or whatever they make it.

Hi Nintendo i have got an idea for your next mario games. For the mega mushroom, when mario is in fire flower/other form, when he gets mega mushroom, he will become normal mario after the mega mushroom time; i think you should change it to when mario gets the mega mushroom in fire flower form you can keep the fire flower power so mega mario can shoots mega fire balls.

I wish they would make a new Yoshi game but in 3D. Like you get to play as a yoshi on yoshi's island and do tasks etc.

i dont have to play it, if you notice in some gameplay trailers, the music even though its the same, it has some extra effects added to it. which means they probably plan to use that music.

Ah, so more footage of New Super Mario Bros. 2. Good to see the new powerups focusing on coins again, although it could just be a gimmick idea. The return of older items such as the Mini Mushroom and Mega Mushroom are great though to entertain players of the previous titles like me while the new content will be fun to check out. Looks like a good sequel to New Super Mario Bros. for DS.

The Mega Mushroom felt so impractical in NSMB, I'm not really sure why it was there at all. Even when you do get it outside of the first level, I don't recall any other stages feeling particularly well-suited to have a giant, stomping Mario run around in them.

I don't try to think of it as another seperate game requiring an entirely new plot, new music, and new levels and such, but rather an addition to the original game. All those levels were fun, and every game in the New Super Mario series adds on several cool new power-ups and such, and more levels for more fun.

i can't wait till this is out

Finally after its use in NSMB and Mario Kart Wii, (not counting M&L Bowsers Inside Story's appearance) the Mega Mushroom make a return; it was one of my favorite power-ups since NSMB.

Y'know, I hope they have an option or "code" to play as Luigi in 1 player mode of this game like NewSMB (DS) did. I was a li'l disapointed that NewSMBWii didn't have that option. Sure they play the exact same in the NewSMB games, but it's a nice change of pace sometimes to play as the green one. I also like how nowadays while Mario gets a raccoon or tanooki suit, Luigi meanwhile gets fox or "kitsune" one. (Yes, he does get a fox ears, with a tail suit in this one to.)
