Learning to ride an electric unicycle. Thought I'd do this to give you an idea of how long it takes. Apologies for the terrible audio!

I highly recommend for newbies to start of with someone to walk with them and hold their arm/hand so you can start to figure out balancing easier. Just keep working at it everyone, even if it doesn't seem like it will it does get easier! Speaking from experience of course.

Im getting a knee replacement July 15. It's just to painfully for me. You did awesome. Keep at it. Steve from massachusetts

Danny Vincent Wear from protection and use a fence (to hold on)to practice along with or a space 10m wide that you can ride from wall to wall. I found that quite use for because you may push yourself out to gain the starting speed and heading to another wall to help you stop. Open area like in the video is not exactly the best practice area. But if you can learn in that, then you are quite good.

Great video :) i didnt buy the ninebot one because I thought that it would be much easier to use 2 wheels.. That's why I decided the airwheel q3. I'm using it now for over 3 months and it is a very nice and stable device. Especially when you are using it on very low speeds. But with 2 wheels it is much more difficult to turn and when you are using it on rough surfaces it woobles to much. Next time I will buy a one wheeled device like the ninebot or the x8.. What is the range of the device and was your wife able to manage it?

+Justin Bowyer Politicians i.e (big brother government) create legislation but police officers can't be bothered wasting time to enforce it, and it's perfectly logical why they don't when their limited resources should be used elsewhere productively in tackling REAL criminal activity. 4 out of every 10 officers no doubt have family relations (kids, nephews, nieces) that own some kind of motorized transporter; whether it be a electric scooter, hoverboard or unicycle. Besides we're not talking about Segways here. Fact of the matter is the statute doesn't rule out one-wheeled self balancing units, it's still a grey area. These devices are merely for peoples leisure and enjoyment. They're also great commuting devices which are revolutionary in cutting back traffic congestion. Hundreds of U.K Euc riders (including myself) on electricunicycle.org have never reported being stopped by police because we've worn the appropriate attire/safety gear. They will at least stop you for not wearing a helmet. I personally have always worn one with a mirror attachment. In addition to night/evening rides I will also include a blue high-visibility vest (which aids as a reflector) along with bicycle lights. The police turn a blind eye completely and gives them no reason to stop me. It's funny, in the one hand the government make loud claims to be advocates of green technologies i.e hybrid and electric to reduce co2 emissions that apparently affect climate change but yet refuse to embrace these new future innovations??? The hypocrisy is unbearable.

john frankling Hi John, Quite like learning to ride a bike that stiffness of your body doesn't help at all. My experience is to learn in a narrow corridor or some one walking by your side to offer a holding hand that you can grab when you are about to loose balance.

I have a twin-wheel Airwheel Q3. I spread my training out over three days so that I wouldn't tire myself out and suffer injury. I have a badly mangled left leg from a motorbike crash and the Q3 is helping me regain strength and to move faster than I can with just the old legs. Have you experimented with changing the air pressure in the tire (tyre)? I have a very hard time with changing road surfaces. Glad you are wearing your safety gear! Have fun, be safe!

I'm hearing that more pressure is better than less pressure from others, as well. I plan on adding some wobble board and stair stepper routines to aid in strengthening for better riding, too!

+Justin Bowyer yeah just looking at your first attempts, I think a lot of the wobble was actually caused/amplified by the lack of air pressure. Nice video though, thanks for putting it up. Looks like you adapted rather quickly.

Stick at it. Eventually when you're comfortable/confident to venture out exploring make sure to wear a helmet to avoid being stopped by police (providing you live in the U.K that is). Riding Electric Unicycles in England is still a grey area - neither legal or illegal.
