Ninebot ES1 ES2 ES4 front suspension mod & rear adjustment
#ninebot #es2 #suspension
In this video I'm gonna solve what is probably the most annoying issue with this scooter: the terrible "clack sound" you can hear when you hit a pothole or some cracks in your path. The procedure will consist in a quick mod of the front suspension and it will take just few minutes, also it's totally reversible. We will also look on when and how to calibrate the rear suspension.

    - Hey pal, just wanted to say thank you. I had just purchased my ES3, and I was wondering what that sound was going over bumps, now with your help, I went out and got 5mm elastic cord, and followed your steps. The front suspension is MUCH more durable now, and doesn’t bottom out on me, and I’m 260lbs. 😂 So thank you! I’ve liked, commented, and subscribed. I think I might be having a burning wire issue as well, as mentioned in your other video, but no wires are melted, or deteriorated that I can see. My scooter is at 440kms. (273 miles)

    On every small height difference (about 1cm) there is a loud noise like suspension topping off. I learned to avoid such noise by jumping over obstacles. It puts more strain on the rear suspension, but makes a smoother ride when you just jump over anything that would make hard noise. When you drive fast, you can easily jump over the large square metal covers on the road. I will try your mod, it's an interesting idea.

    Yes your suggestion is what I try to do too, but this mod helped a bit with the disturbing noise

    I don't know mate. If you stiffen the spring with any material, even with elastic one, you will have a smoother sound for sure but the power that goes through the wheel will change. Maybe im wrong here, but if the engineerd it well, than the resonance should work like its originally desing and if you modify it even a bit like this will create resonance on other parts which are not obviously takes that much. That means on my theory that you solve a cracking sound which is annyoing as hell meanwhile creating a slowly developing crack on somewhere else in the body, wheel rod, or may pushing the wheel or increase tyres wear a bit more it than should be. Adding up with the overclocking software... well :) you got it from here. But as a solution for budget money, this was a good one and thank you for it !

    I didn't stiffen it since using a thin elastic cable, it will increment the absorption power of the spring, if you exceed with the thickness that might be a problem as I said in the video

    That’s KPH. Please take note of the difference. 25kph = 15.5mph 30kph = 18.6mph 32kph = 19.8mph (near the peak speed without pushing limits) 35kph = 21.7mph (peak speed I usually get consistently) 37kph = 22.9mph (fastest I’ve seen on dash under throttle) 40kph = 24.8mph (around fastest rolling downhill coasting w software mod) 50kph = 31.0mph (fastest reported with trace cut mod and expo batt profile)

    Heres another idea....why not line the top of the spring with something like some hot glue to cushion it maybe.

  • @fgtechtips

    @fgtechtips

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes that could work but with the vibrations and movements I think the hot glue will deteriorate faster than the tape

  • @jigzonyt517

    @jigzonyt517

    2 жыл бұрын

    Because hot glue will fly off or crush in the first impact. In short you'll will have one softer bump then your back to normal. Even though I would recommend it even silicone would be a better option. Apply with a gun and try that 🤷🏼‍♂️ it isn't a method I would say is good because I have never tried but it would be better than hot glue for sure.

    I used the type of foam used for floor impact protection for children. I cut up a suitable sized strip, and it doesn't totally bottom out anymore. But my scooter doesn't have rear shocks, so I'm ordering an aftermarket kit soon

    Hey short question: e45d here, but same suspension in the front. I have the problem that the suspension doesn't really work bc I'm too light. 63 kg and as far as I can see, it mostly is on the highest stage, with me being too light to "push it in" so if I'm driving over a piece of uneven ground, it's not damping anything, driving as if there wasn't suspension at all. Anything I can do?
