Eh it's more like two people on opposite sides of war which is different than two people having different social opinions. They're soldiers, and are specifically indoctrinated into believing into prejudice. So of course they're not gonna like eachother at first. Yet, both were open-minded enough to open up to each other.

Nina and Matthias are cast so accurately, it is terrifying.

idk if it's bad or brilliant acting but matthias looks like he's about to laugh at everything nina says. but accordng to the book, that's accurate.

I have a love-hate relationship with this show because it hardly followed along with the books, but damn if they didn’t do a fantastic job with these characters. The hut scene was so perfect as is Nina’s “immodest” behavior. So I’ll be over here rewatching their scenes and crying while trying to forget what happens in the book series.

see, i've watched this scene a few times now, and: he doesn't push her away. he's *holding on to her arm.* that's why matthias gives nina that almost disappointed, slightly guilty look when she takes it away, he liked her touching him, he liked her using her grisha powers to warm him up, and he's ashamed of that. but not so much that he doesn't smile a little to himself when she's turned her back.

Same. I didn’t always hate Matthias, but he definitely wasn’t a well liked character of mine. With that said, whenever Nina and Matthias were on screen together I was smiling and just wanted more. Can’t wait for after Hellgate when I can see my two now OTPs (Jes + Wylan and Nina + Matthias)
