Hi CJ thanks for the video and tried following the steps; however I believe the files you uploaded are for windows and not mac and when I tried it it came up with an error saying the files are for windows and not mac. if possible can you please assist. Many thanks Ezzy

thanks for the update...how do i do for MAC?

I'm using lightroom 5 that I couldn't find updates for after loading it on to a new laptop about 2 years ago (it didn't cause me any issues I'm aware of until I upgraded my camera today). Is there any fix for my situation? I realize everything is switching to subscriptions, but I despise this business practice and would prefer to pay more for something that is mine vs paying less for something I'll always be paying for and may eventually pay more for. Unfortunately sometimes a person has to 'get with the times' regardless if they like it or not. BTW, great video regardless of my situation's outcome. I'm only a recreational photographer and will convert all my NEF files before getting that damn subscription as I often go months without shooting or editing any photos (assuming this doesn't degrade my image quality).

This is a great work around. I've been doing raw+jpg for over a week now so I can play with the Z6ii and see and feel the AF differences between it and my Z6 bodies. Now I can take my Z6ii to work tomorrow and carry on like normal with raw nefs. Cheers for sharing!

You’re welcome.

You don't need the batch file, just copy to folder, select all, right click, properties, details, then go to model info and delete the "_2", press ok and windows will update it.

Hi I am on a Macbook Pro and I followed your instructions (I downloaded Python for Mac) and I'm still having trouble importing my files into Lightroom - it says that the script ran but I am not seeing any changes to the file name. Please help?

I have just come across this video and tried the suggested operation on my Z6II files and while it successfully changed the camera model from Z 6_2 to Z 6, I am unable to import them into LR6.14. LR says preview images are not available for the files and if I go ahead and click import, LR tells me these files cannot be opened by Lightroom. My Z6II is only 4 moths old so, could it be an issue with the files produced by a later model camera?

I have the z 7 ii so do i use the same software?

I recently bought the Nikon Z6 2 and a Ronin SC gimbal, but the nikon z6 2 doesn't support the ronin sc gimbal as the record button doesn't function, is there any update pertaining to the same

I followed instructions - didn't work, I used explorer like you show to view properties like you showed and I seem to have no camera exif info, even on the files still on the card. ?

Did you install the Nikon raw codec on your Pc?

will this work on a z9?

do you have macos version?

Your ZIP folder is empty sir.. also python file is not supported in windows

This download is only for PC (not Mac)

Or use Luminar 4.

When I download the drop box, there is no python file?

I just checked it’s there. You must be on a Mac. The python file only works on windows.

It should however I would try to convert those files to a z7. Not sure how the higher MP will work.

No I think I commented a link for Mac users. I also placed the video in the info card on this video.

Please let people know that Windows 10 does not open python files or recognize them. You need to download a program that executes python files first.
