Can’t Edit Your Sony A7RV Raw files? WATCH THIS….

With the release of the new Sony A7RV, a lot of people are finding out there is is no support in Lightroom for uncompressed raw images for the camera. Thanks to Danny Bligh, we have found a solution to upload your raw files into the Lightroom.
Visit exiftool.org to download the software
And use command/terminal code
exiftool -sonymodelid="ILCE-7RM4" -ext ARW -r ADD FILE DIRECTORY HERE
MAKE SURE you leave a space between the -r and your directory and all folders in directory must not have any character spaces. Any problems, let me know!

Support for A7RV raw support has just been added in an update to LR 🎉

Jpg to dng converter is one I used to use but lr is quick with the compatibility updates.

Yes and unfortunately we tried DNG and couldn't convert in DNG Converter either
I'm using Lightroom 11.5 on Mac and I still can't open Sony A7RV raw files, which version are you using?
my Mac refused to open the exiftool bc it may have malware...
Is there a big difference then using Capture one to convert the images?

No but the majority of people use Lightroom.

@@BrandonColePhotography if you use capture one, you could convert the images to your hard drive and then transfer them to Lightroom it's a lot easier this way.

Man I bought a brand new lens after the latest A7iv update, and I put uncompressed raw medium, and forgot about it, and Lightroom freaked out and scrambled every single image. I was going crazy, I even returned the lens, because for some reason my old lenses worked fine…for a while. After I returned the lens all my photos were scrambled up by Lightroom. I reset my camera to factory conditions and it started working again, and that’s where I realized the problem was actually the new uncompressed raw files not being fully supported. All of that to say, even when they do update Lightroom, will it even accept the uncompressed raw modes?

Yes it will it has always accepted uncompressed when I shot

@@BrandonColePhotography sorry, typo, I meant the compressed raw modes. I never had a problem with compressed raw large, but compressed raw medium doesn’t work in Lightroom.
Just a heads up that Lightroom now recognizes A7 V files :)
It doenot work for A7iv what command should we enter?

Lightroom has been updated since this to support the A7RV raw files you should have no problem if your Lightroom is updated
zsh: command not found: exiftool its not working was is the problem

What do you mean not working. Are you on a windows or Mac?
Just use Adobe DNG converter and then you can open your files up the lightroom

Well you might not need it now since Adobe has been updated to accept A7RV raw files but it stil should work I haven’t seen any issues

.\exiftool -sonymodelid="ILCE-7RM4" -ext ARW -r 'C:\Users\steve\Documents\D' - anyone having trouble I needed the ' to bracket, using powershell. What I posted is what I use.
Dang, tried everything without luck.
Simple answer get Canon R 5 and don't play games

$6000 to have to go through this to shoot RAW in LR 🤔🧐☹️ thank you for the solution big B although I have the A7RIV from your referral; & also you pronounce Lossless as lose (like taking a lose like i'm sorry for your lose' ) and less 😉🫡
