First, great review! Second, would you agree that it's basically just the Zion 2 setup in the shoe, then? Seems pretty much the same setup, but at KD pricing instead of mid-level Zions.

Zion 2 had a standard Zoom unit I believe so these are “better” in that sense. But it really just depends on your needs on-court. The Zion was a shoe built for stability with cushion whereas these are built for mobility with cushion.

The traction pattern reminds me of ancient Greek astrological instrument called Astrolavos - you may search under "Antikythera mechanism", named after the Greek island near where it was found. The central traction pattern is exactly the piece that scientists managed to put together. Hope I have helped, keep up the nice work!

These actually grew on me when I first saw pictures I didn’t really like them especially because it was the blue and purple color way but they actually look nice now that i gotten a good look, the KD line has been one of the best lines on Nike

Loved the design of the KD 16s! Now I def see the resemblance to the Penny 2s…..and it’s a good thing. The outsole looks dope as hell too!! I am bummed out about the cushioning change, especially since they KD line has been consistent since the 12s, but curious to find out what the entire setup really is.

Wow, finally a pair that you can also wear casually. A lot of the modern basketball shoes you wouldn't wear as a lifestyle. I guess that's why the clasic Jordans sell so well.

50/50 to upgrade from 15s. I wished they retain the full length air strobel plus extra forefoot air would be great, similar with J36. I hope this time they fixed the heel slippage issue from 15s otherwise I enjoyed playing with 15s, my foot never experience any pain issue.

I get Penny 1 ‘House Party’ colourway vibes.

The zoom in the forefoot makes this a much faster/bouncier shoe in my opinion without sacrificing too much comfort

Hi Cris. Just an FYI, Puma released Clyde All Pro Team here in asia. You might be interested. They removed the pebax cushion and the carbon fiber upper material. Just an fyi on one of your fave shoes now re-releasing w a different tooling. Pro foam is still there.

I feel like this might be a call back to the kd 6. From what I remember they were also referenced to a clock or watch. They also had zoom in the forefront and air unit in the back.

As a heavier guy I love max/ zoom setups, but strobel deff feels a bit faster .

Nice review. Cushioning setup in this shoe is kinda like Zion 2 zoom strobel in the heel and zoom air in the forefoot. Great performer.

Yo this might be the model that can reinvigorate Nike’s performance basketball shoe as a casual sneaker.

Sneaker chop was the first inside look at sneakers.

Those designs from the outsole look like how different ancient cultures would draw out the Sun. Makes sense since he's with the Phoenix Suns right now.

These actually have like a square zoom unit, not the budget rectangle one they use. It's bigger than a pentagon zoom unit but more like a section of a zoom turbo unit, that's why it looks like a rectangle unit because that's a third of it
