This model has really grown on me. When they were first revealed, I wasn't feeling them. But seeing them in other colorways really changed my mind on these. I like how they went with a new look compared to the last few models.

This model is bad imo. The shape of the sole seems to invite your ankle to roll. The holes in the sole in the front will probably perform so bad while you try to defend or move lateral. Like the look tho, but hell nah.

I’m 41 years old and I remember when Js used to drop and it was special to me back in the 90s. I used to get so hype as a kid lol these would’ve gotten the same treatment if they would’ve came out back when Jordan used to play, with that said these got that same type of feeling, from your typical Js design, colorway etc. These are so close to that time lol

I agree with Mrs. Wing. I definitely see the evolution from the 37 to 38. I personally don't like these as a high, but am excited to see the lows. Great video as always!

These are a significant aesthetic improvement over the 37.

100% anticipating what the lows look like as well! With the exception of the 35, I’ve copped the low versions of the 30-37.

To me these look like the first Air Jordan in a long time to with the right balance current tech and premium touch features. Like you said looks like a classic Jordan that you could see him playing in and some of the more recent models I wouldn't say so. Excited to see these in person! Hoping for a black cat colorway and also looking forward to the lows!

I haven't looked forward to getting a new Air Jordan in hand this much since the 34. This thing is a beauty. Can't wait!

This for me is the most anticipated Jordan since the 29. Loved the 34 and 36 almost was great for me but so glad Jordan has built a performance sneaker that actually looks like a flagship model. Want this and hoping a UNC colorway.

Once again, another great overall video review. Thank you again, to Chris and Jodi. Very much appreciated as always. The "shock drop" review. The Air Jordan 38's have grown on me after seeing the first pictures. I have seen pictures of this shoe with the XDR solid rubber outsole as well and truly hope it is released. Just not a fan of clear rubber outsoles. Looking forward to seeing what other colorways are instore. I have seen pictures and a video of a WNBA player (whom I forget at this time) wearing an "Aqua" version of this shoe.

Yoooooo. The Prime Hype DF was the first hoop shoe I picked out for myself, and it was thanks to your review. That shoe was dope. Great overview for this pair. I took a step back from sports due to an ACL injury, but I still like to check in on these reviews for when I eventually get back on the court.

Agreed. 34-36 design wise was on point. Wasnt a big fan of the fitting / tech on the 35 though, even though its similar to 34 and 36. Not a fan of the 37 though. 38 looks incredible though

@@leir2005 I got my pair of 37 lows from Dick's for $102 and some change. As soon as I wore them I understood why they'd been discounted so much. I loved the 36's but the 37's were a huge disappointment...so much so that they've been relegated to my "beater" designation (IE: don't care if I abuse them, beat em up, wear them wherever, etc).

Really, really digging these. Design, tech, colors, all of it. I'm big on lows now though so I'd like to see what the those will look like

Finally got my hands (and feet) on these and I gotta admit these are SICK. Most comfortable basketball shoe ever, I have a couple of Lebrons XX and Curry 10s and those are really great but these are *even* better yet. Crazy.

i've heard mj's fadeaway and the mechanics of that shot was the literal inspiration for this shoe's design

Your continued fandom for Jordan in 2023 is hilarious…. And by which i mean im the same exact way. No matter how skilled or dominant others have been, no one’s quite shattered reality quite like Jordan in our days. Yeah, there will be Performance Fit versions for overseas with opaque XDR outsoles for outdoor play. That's inevitable. Hopefully this wasn't a mystery to anyone but the reason the Jordan 34-36 had those raised see-through arches was as callbacks to the Jordan 4-6 having visible Air units. The Jordan 8 had no visible Air so naturally this one wouldn't have a see-through arch.

I like how the 38 is displayed as xxx with 8 on top of it. Cool!

I had the prime hype df2, got them for like $15 bucks at outlet and in my 30 years of basketball shoes it’s easily the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn.

I love these, especially the grey pair releasing soon and I’ll probably pick them up. That being said the only thing I hate about this move to zero program is it doesn’t come with a move to zero price. We’re still paying a premium price so I expect premium touches, box, paper, materials and all but you know🤷🏽‍♂️

OK! I officially like the 38 and how they look….up to this point i haven’t seen a good view of it. I’d love to see the entire specs blown up just cause it’s interesting for them to go full length zoom strobel (which is great) but not stack it with another zoom unit….especially after launching unlocked zoom…which I absolutely LOVE!!!!! Love the tongue short you did highlighting the breathability. My theory on Cushlon 3.0 is….1.0 was utilized in running, especially in the mid to late 90s and early 2000s. Then 2.0 was the implementation into basketball, with the CP3 line onwards….then this is and updated version? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Got mine today and they are 🔥 totally new shoe.

I remember when I purchased the Jordan 34 Chicago's SE they had two zippers and I'm telling you right now to this day there's not a better form-fitting shoe if you've ever tried them on you have to they're super expensive now I paid $300 for my pear on stock x but that is a crazy I know it's been a few years but if you haven't tried them on you have to it takes you back to the Old skool days when you got a fresh pair of J's if you were lucky traded your Gameboy or your bicycle to your friend and your pair of shoes for his Jordans and put them on that's what the Air Jordan 34 SE Chicago is to me and this new shoe the Jordan 38 reminds me a lot of that shoe it has that solid white going up the middle looks very comfortable and I can't wait to get a pair🎉🎉🎉🎉
