First, let me compliment you, for your pendant!!! So... HOW'S THE HEART?😉 Now to the song: The language sung by Troy at the beginning of the song is Welsh. Troy plays the Uilleann pipes and the Low Whistle. Both are Irish instruments. It was a Nightwish concert at the sold out Wembley Arena. Walden is a book by Henry David Thoreau, chronically the two years he lived by Walden Pond, seeking solitude and a oneness with nature by living simply and creating an environment that suited him and no one else. He interacted with others, selling beans he had grown, but did not integrate with their institutions. The line in the song “I do not wish to evade the world, yet I will forever build my own,” captures that nicely, I think. NWSU 🤘😎🤘.

Such an underrated song by them .....that 2nd half of the song is such a cool jam with Troy on his " beautiful pipes" just wished it went on for another few minutes longer .

Hey Jynger, thanks for sharing your Nightwish journey with us. Like you, I'm from the USA. Since I discovered Nightwish 3+ years ago, I can't stop listening to them---specifically the Floor Jansen era. I believe Tuomas and Floor are two of the most gifted people alive during our lifetimes. I feel like I spent upwards of 50 years waiting for them, but I never knew that was happening. It's a shame their following in the USA is so small, and yet their fanbase spans the globe. Cheers! p.s. The Shoemaker (live) ending from the Deichbrand festival last year will stun your heart.

I love the folk aspect Troy brings to the band. People reember 2013 as the moment Floor was officialy included in the band but let's not forget Troy also joined at the same time. The man is so talented in some many unusual instruments. My only regret is that he doesn't play the hurdy-gurdy but I'm not sure it would fit in the band (althought I trust Tuomas, he could make it fit if he'd want, if he thought the bands need a hurdy-gurdy)

By “THAT SONG” you must be referring to “The Poet and the Pendulum” top version I’ve seen is from this Wembley concert in 2015, I know you are aware of the research that needs to be done ahead of time, but there’s a video with lyrics and the 5song parts sub-titled and in my opinion that is the one to go for. There’s a terrific official live concert from Buenos Aires in Argentina on you tube that also features AMARANTH, this was an Annette song, and the official video produced sung by her is, for me, her best song, so worth watching that version prior to the “live stream” event, which I hope I catch live, if you don’t start too early in the day! 😂

To find one's own Walden, is to disvover that place, be it a physical location or a state of mind where you feel at one with nature, at peace within.

Love the door 🤣 Check: Amorphis - Amongst Stars (Official Music Video). Music video is dark and has kinda horror theme. I think you will like it. Finnish metal band and they collab with fabulous Dutch singer Anneke van Giersbergen. Actually, this Wembley gig you watched, opener for Nightwish were Amorphis and Arch Enemy 😀 In my opinion it's one of the best things Tuomas ever figured, that they should have these celtic, folk and light-hearted songs. It really expanded their repertoire.

Here is my tip to you about The Poet And The Pendulum.... Do it separately. It deserves not to be included in a concert reaction. It's to much to take in and risking hidden content/meanings to get lost. And in my humble opinion, the version from Wembley, with white text showing the words, gives you an 80% higher chance to understand what the meaning of it is. It lets you know when the chapters with in the composition starts. It sets the tone. In my opinion, without the white text it's just a song. With them, it's an insight. Excellent) i understand that all women inspired Floor's personality, but every musicians in this band deserves respect no less than Floor. Tuomas as metal mozart, Marko as romantic power voice viking with great charisma, no less charismatic Emppu as mister smile and energy positive ) ex-drummer Jukka as one of the most passionate and emotional drummers as i knew. And of course Troy, one of the more successful piper in the world and multiinstrumentalist. I very recommend his previous band - IONA in which he was member a long time. It is celtic progressive folk rock band with female vocal too. By the way! Tuomas, Troy and Tuomas's wife - Johanna Kurkella (finnish singer, popular in Finland) created band - AURI. It is very "angelic meditative" folk music but great. So, these musicians all unique and brilliant.

To give justice to this song You need to do some research and react to it separately. Only then it will have the impact it should. Nightwish are the only band, and Floor the only singer that can bring tears to the eyes of this 56 year old Metalhead - and I personally have not heard a single song I don't like, some are better than others but I like, or love every one 🤘

Do you think this was the first noticeably different song in style that you've covered? It's a bit Folk/Celtic metal what with the edition of my fellow Englishman Troy Donockley on Low whistles and Uilleann (Irish) Pipes etc. I'm intrigued if you felt any kind of difference to that one which might put you off - or have you been pulled in completely like the rest of us - being totally in awe and natural acceptance? Take good care of yourself 😃 And I can't wait to see what you do with the song that you referred to as 'THAT' song which you and I briefly talked about in the comments to your previous video!

Oh and yeah - poet at Wembley live, has to be separate, just has to be - research I don't think is a must, but with lyrics probably is a good idea, it's very intense. It's of course a classic, but so is greatest show on earth at Tampere - definitive version of that one. Both awesome, just differently so

The thing is Floor exudes emotion I tear up 95% of the time and I'm big scary looking dude lol I subbed don't know why I haven't yet I watch all your Floor exclusive stuff but if it means a full Wacken 13 concert or a Wembley 15 one I'd sub everyday if I could If I could suggest an Anette song since she's my favorite after Floor n Marko I think the official video of Bye Bye Beautiful would be great ,it's a song that Floor never did n never will.

Looking forward 2 NW reactions per week. I sense the song you are talking about is "The Greatest Show on Earth" - it's a very special song - Both the Tampere and Wembley version are great, but the Tampere is IMO the most impressive and complete show experience. If the concert you are thinking of streaming is the one from Wacken (and that would be a great choice and start point if you'd consider doing more concert streams) then be aware it does not have the GSOE on the set list (piece wasn't release before the first album with Floor as lead was released).
