I live New Jersey. I have visited several cities in Mexico and the state of Guanajuato is just so charming it just won my heart. I have visited the Leon, but for some reason I always wanted to go to San Miguel de Allende and never got the chance. Now watching all these videos I am determined to retire there. I wish I could move there now. I just don't know what steps to take. I dream of being there.

San Miguel Its just the begginig. There are now 83 magical towns all over Mexico besides some medium size cities. Explore them, investigate them. Mexico its 80% safe, the rest what can I say? its awful. Hopefully 100% Mexico will be safe in the future. Greetings.

it is not about get it cheep. Mexican properties are afordable. ANd the cost of living too. That is the reazon we have the biggest canadian and north american community living abroad.

Unfortunately the bad news you see in USA are exaggerated and manipulated. I can assure you that must of the Mexican towns and cities are more safe than some ones in USA.In Mexico Mexicans do not use weapons by law. About the drug war, the problem is focused in the cities close to the USA border because those are the places to introduce it to the biggest drug consumer market in the world. Any way, in tranquil cities like San Miguel you don´t have to be in the wrong place with the wrong persons.

I would rather live here in San Miguel De Allende instead of this awful place I live being Norwalk, CT. For The Same money I could live in a mansion for a tiny room in Norwalk CT a very dead town.
