The reason why I love this scene so much is because of the room in which the two of them are surrounded. That room shows the process, how the final solution of a photograph is created. For example. out of 20 photos, only one photo is chosen, which may represent the brand of a perfume or a bag tomorrow. It shows the process of how that one photo is perfected.

0:21 I've been there - only my boss screamed at me several times, glared at me several times, threw something she had in her hand down on the table a few times, told me it was exhausting working with me once, told me "it's like you're not even concentrating" once, jabbed me in the shoulder-blades to get me to get a move on with something I'd only just started, smacked her kids in front of me, and pulled my ear in front of a customer once. I went back to this scene a few times mentally to remind myself that my boss was 'just doing her job' and to ask myself if I was really trying or just whining. Got me through a lot but also found myself think 'but actually, I really am trying'. While my boss didn't ask me to get a plane for her in the middle of a hurricane, at least Miranda never humiliated her like my boss humiliated and hurt me.

What I love about the scene that follows this one is what Andy is wearing in this exact scene. She looks so plain the top is so similar to her skin tone she almost looks like a she's literally a blank slate and all she's wearing for her bottoms are just a plain black skirt it's like she's completely neutral almost invisible, and he helps make her shine and stand out in the right way. I love when costumeing is symbolical like this!!

GASLIGHTING 101. This movie is so toxic. She’s talking about an emotional and verbal manipulator who is her boss and then gets told that it’s her fault by her other coworker? And she believes it?? Insane

Her friends outside of work are much worse. Nigel's approach is straightforward honesty, without coddling. Perhaps he could be gentler. But it's not his job to be the H.R. department. In real life, isn't H.R. supposed to prevent bosses from abusing their employees?

@@dobbysboggart6883 I wish it were true regarding HR “protecting their employees from abusive bosses.” Reality is the opposite. HR protects the bosses because the bosses have the power and money.

She doesn't tell her it's her fault, he takes offense in the trying part, she isn't taking her job seriously, she doesn't know anything about the product she is working with. It's a wake up call that she is whining, not actually working.
