NieR: Automata | Pascal | Pascal's village theme lyrics
==== Please read the description ====
I'd never been in Pascal's village long enough at a time to really appreciate this song but god is it cute. Gameplay footage was recorded by myself.
The text at the top of the screen is written in "Celestial" or "Angelic" script, not completely accurate, I only put it in for the Aesthetic bonus.
You can learn more about celestial script here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celesti...
These lyrics aren't at all official, just a fan transcription, feel free to use them in any covers or anything you plan on doing, and whilst I'm not going to hunt you down for not crediting, it would be appreciated if you could link to this video.
The language sung in many NieR tracks, (Excluding ashes of dreams and The weight of the world) is not a proper spoken language, and is actually a mish mash of several real world languages to create a fictional portrayal of the language drift between today and the game(s) setting.

I'll never forget that first time going to the village and seeing all these robots waving their little white flags around, it immediately endeared this game to me for life, that one single moment.

The first time I went, I went for the Ending for destroying them all. Haunting and incredibly agonizing are the minimum of how I’d describe it. I felt so bad that I turned the game off for a week before being able to go back into the Village. If I had tried to attempt it again as A2... I would’ve just not considered completing the game at all. That’s how effective they were with the world and it’s characters

This game single-handedly changed my temperament, I remember walking into this village feeling like they were leading me into an ambush. I was ready to destroy everyone, and in the end I felt so awful about it I ugly cried. Applied to it life, stopped going into situations with my guard and sword up. I felt such a positive change afterwards! Do you still think games are silly little things?

As a gamer in my 30's and I can say this is an exact moment in my life I can recall exactly, precisely. This is by far my favorite song in a game. It's catchy, emotional, and creates such a warming atmosphere for one one of my favorite moments in this game. When you find out that the "evil robots" actually have a culture, families, and are more human than you could think.
Still haven't fucking recovered.
Playing this for the first time in 2022, all the songs were excellent for atmosphere and setting, but this song in particular. The first time you experience, just like that other commenter said, it endears you to the world and makes you feel apart of this living post humanity world. My favorite genre is post apocalyptic world, this song made nier probably my favorite. The lore is so deep for it to have come from an alternate ending to another game series, but that’s the greatest thing about it, that creativity. This song and the family aspect of the machines who’ve abandoned that life, it sums up the melancholy of the game so well.

The lyrics might seem to be weird for some, but the more I thought about the lyrics they kind of make sense. Since Nier Automata is so far in the future it‘s quite possible that a new language mixed out of many other languages we know of today might develop over the centuries.
@qplaqpla
3 жыл бұрын
The game is set around 11,000 AD, and much like Pascal's deep dive into humanity, its possible that the language in this music is an amalgam of all languages, and it may actually make sense in its context. It's described as "chaos" language, but it's essentially treating all world languages as though they were just one language, which is my theory as to why the lyrics are so alien. It's like a universal human language.

Another way of putting it would be "Love, peace. Love peace."
I loved coming to this village just for the peace and tranquility. This and the theme park were the two places I constantly visited when I just wanted to chill and relax. So coming back to this village after it was destroyed I was DECIMATED and I legitimately cried. Then when playing as 2A and Pascal begged you to delete his memories or kill him I just didnt know what to do, so all I could do was cry. Cuz deleting his memories meant he would forget 2B and 9S, but then killing him would just... well end him entirely, and you had the option to walk away, but you didnt wanna just leave him in pain. I mean Christ on a fuckin crucifix this game was just an emotional rollercoaster.

This entire area and characters fill this song with such innocence. It gives the feeling that, with this song, they fight against Inuart's statement of "Welcome to a world without song", as if, this song would simbolize a glimpse of hope against the cold silence of a neverending war-filled mind.
That guitar is everything!!!
You did a good job of making the lyrics look like a mysterious amalgamation of several world languages, I get vibes of Hindi, German, Japanese, Arabic, Latin, all at once

These robots are obviously pirates. Searching for one piece 😅 I LOVE THIS SONG.
This is the first time I cried to this game. Seeing how they all were waving their flags, and being partnered with this song, venules broke me. Especially since I had been killing robots this whole time. I did spare basically every robot in the amusement park, because they weren't fighting back, but I was more so just really confused. But making it to the village, god it was such a powerful moment.
got to pascal village today and loved all the little robots as soon as i saw them, as i was talking to pascal, though, i accidentally clicked 1 time more than needed and KILLED HERRRRR I WAS SO SAD I RESET THE GAME AND HAD TO DO THE AMUSEMENT PARK BOSS AGAINN
I play this game in 2019, im feel so nostalgic remember this little music. The final arc of pascal make me cry so bad cause he es a robot with a good heart but a horrible end
This music with the playful choir got me chills when I visit into the village in-game, it was surprising for the Yorhas that those robots can be allies to the resistance and it gives them empathy.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who teared up getting here for the first time.
I had already knew the plot and the village fate before I played the game. So when I got to this part and did a bunch of wholesome quest here, it makes me feel so sad
Feels like home
Ive never played Nier Automata But this song will forever hold a place in my heart thanks to a game i made up for my nephews where i just lift them up and down to this song😂
Just got this game for Christmas and this theme is gonna stick with me.
When I got here I thought the entire white flag thing was a ruse. That the robots were trying to get me into a false sense of security. I didn’t attack anyone for fear of pissing them off and having them all attack me. You can imagine how I felt when I finally figured out that the assault I was waiting for was never coming
idk why but i remember binging this game when it came out and the music for whatever reason always makes me sad like nier auto has an amazing sound track

When I first played this game last year, I was honestly surprised to find a village of friendly machines. It was heartbreaking what happened to them all later on in the game.
It’s enough to make an old man cry
I couldn’t stop humming this songs. The best part is 0:31, 0:52, and 1:13.
I don't even know why I still listen to this soundtrack, it started as a cheerful song for the village, but after finishing the story it just breaks my heart, the song may be cheerful but the ending of the village's story isn't, and I honestly don't know what's the worse choice for Pascal's end, erasing their memory and then seeing them selling the parts of the villagers really shocked me during my first run through that part. Anyways I'm just gonna think that the villagers lived happily ever after
Robots have no feelings, they can't feel at all Literally five minutes into the game
