Hey, Beastie! Thanks for the shout about the Strapins... Diggin' those! Just ordered a couple! I love traditional lace boots as well (I'm old-school too... 46) and I just love lace boots / those Strapins seem like they're going to add a real (extra) level of locked win comfort👊🏂⛄ Thanks again, amigo!

Hey guys, hope you’re doing well, thanks for the review 🤙🏽 This boot ticks all the boxes for what im looking for but I do like a boot that is snug at the top.. I might give it a try and use a thin velcro strap around the top of the liner to see if works.. Between the lace version and the BOA, which one you found you could tighten harder at the top? thanks for the help and happy shredding!

Thanks for the good words. If you like the top of your boot tight you might want to look into something else but if you want to try something like Strap Ins with them I'd give the BOA a go as it tightened better than the lace version for sure.

I’ve put 3 days on my pair so far…Really like em! Great reduction in footprint. Wish they were a little bit stiffer though

Thanks for your take. Yeah if they had a little more support/response on the top these would have been my new best friends.

Update: Put 40 days on them this year and I love them! So comfortable! Flex retention is also on point. I was worried they would be a little too soft, but they perform in all typical resort conditions (super deep or super steep I would go stiffer) and they haven’t gotten all loosey goosey. They have improved my freestyle undoubtedly! Works well with mid stiff boards

Mostly out of curiosity, would you characterize the liner as excessively breaking in around your calves? Was that something that happened with the Kita?

  • @thegoodridesnow

No. It was just made really wide so, right out of the box it was hard to get a snug fit. I didn't notice that with the Kita.

@@thegoodridesnow Oh interesting, I thought it was the out of the box comfort they market coming back to bite them and if the ostensibly higher end liner in the Kita was similarly affected, but it's just a weird cut.

You say their reduced footprint is "almost there with the Fuse", but your own pictures show them wayyyy smaller in footprint next to your Fuses. Hmmm.

Camera perspective is not always to be taken at face value. In person they are 1-2mm longer than my Fuses. Ill be posting exact measurements moving forward to clear up any bad camera angles on my part.

i have question. Do you have access to one of those heat molding machines. Or how do you do it. ? I was wondering if you can do it yourself. Or if you have to go to a shop :)

No I don't. I've tried to get one but it's hard. If you want to do it at home you can put rice in your socks and heat mold em yourself. REI has a vid about that but I'm not a huge fan of it. My boots smelled funky for a few days and it's not as good as the new high end heat molder at a shop.

@@thegoodridesnow Thanks. I have seen that video from Rei with the rice. i was just wondering if there was another way. I think i'll try and take my boots to a shop.. As always thanks for you work.

I've had 2 seasons on the Rift Boa now and they are just too flexy now. Initial comfort was great. Also had the issue with the liner having to squeeze the top practically overlapping... They also have a really annoying pointy bit at the inside ankle and the inner wrap lace mechanism is impossible to tighten with the slide lock design. Don't love these.

  • @luvinfunvan

@@thegoodridesnow 25 days. I’ve heard heating the liners can actually expand the foam so I may try that to see if I can restore them. Failing that I’m onto something else. Perhaps it’s time to go step on. But I’m pretty happy with the Flows…

@@luvinfunvanthat sounds awful. I thought these would retain stiffness based on the previous review but doesn’t seem to be the case for you. Maybe k2 orton or ride deadbolt might be a better buy
