I agree Peter. I sing musical theatre, opera, 60s pop and a few 70s, plus pop/opera mix, and so I absolutely applaud Nicole, because she can sing anything asked of her. We do NOT see enough of her. She is pure talent.

The only judge X-Factor has ever had that was legitimately qualified to judge. Experience with performing in a group. Has experience with a solo career. Can demonstrate her ability to do what she criticizes others for. Was able to personally coach her own categories and teach them vocal techniques for the songs they were performing. Knows what 'stage presence,' 'cabaret' and 'too West End/Broadway' means having performed on stage and leading roles IN theatre productions and doesn't use them as cheap cop-out criticisms. Trained in multiple genres, including but not limited to Opera and Classical. First and only judge to ever retain all acts through to the quarter finals rounds in any X-Factor franchise, was the judge of the winning acts of two of the four seasons she was judge (James Arthur and Matt Terry) tied only with Dani Minogue, insisted on the creation of One Direction as only a guest judge in 2010 despite initial opposition from Cowell (judge of the Groups the same year) who went on to be the most commercially successful act of any X-Factor franchise despite not winning their respective season. None of them ever held a candle to Nicole.

You don't think Kelly Rowland was qualified? Destiny's Child? Cheryl was a very good singer too, clearly qualified. Obviously, Louie knew talent, he managed very successful acts before, and the show is basically owned by Simon, who had been a talent scout and manager since the early 80's with EMI. I think they're all qualified to judge.

I just said the same thing on another video of her singing this song for a cancer fundraiser. She is so underrated and I truly believe its due to her song choices for her solo albums. Nicole is underrated for sure, but I don't know anyone that would say the same about Jennifer Hudson or Christina. Both of them have multiple grammy's and are iconic vocal powerhouses. i would put both of them up there with the greatests - Mariah, Celine, Whitney, etc. Nicole, maybe not, but she's still a lot better than Selena Gomez lol. hell, the original Selena is still better than Gomez

No, Adele is not close. To be honest, she only has a fine and thick tone. A great voice in other words, but she gets out of breath easily and just doesn't have the control Nicole has. Jennifer Hudson may have a more powerful voice but that's it. Jazmine Sullivan on the other hand has a thick voice, just like Adele, but where Adele lacks control and power, Jazmine has it. Brandy is another one who sings circles around everyone you mentioned. But yeah, you're exposed to these mainstream singers you mentioned daily, so it's not strange if you haven't heard of all the great singers out there.

Damn! Matt wasn't bad. But NICOLE stole the show here! Wish she was still part of The X Factor. A great human being. An outstanding musician. An exceptional judge!

This duet with Nicole carried Matt. Nicole's vocals is superbly fantastic! It was her voice that brought Matt to win the title. She is very good! I love Sara and she's got that powerful voice and Nicole knew it since she auditioned. In fact, she was the one who pushed for Sara, telling Sharon that she's good! I would have love Sara to win, but this is UK X Factor and she's Finnish. It is understandable that she didn't get the title. Nevertheless, Sara's exposure in the show will open more doors for her! Good luck, Sara. And for Nicole, love you! Also watch you in Dancing with the Stars and boy, you're really a very competitive woman! You put all efforts into anything you do!

That ending was beyond spectacular. Beautiful tribute. Nicole is a class act, and Matt has some bona fide singing chops.

Hoooly shit that was incredible! Based on Nicole´s performances on this show, Impersonations and "Dancing with the Stars", I can tell that Nicole is a focused individual who has control. She is capable of singing any kinds of songs. I really don´t understand why she doesn´t produce music that can accentuate her talent. She got the looks, she can definitely sing, she can dance etc.

I love this video. This performance was so perfect in every single way. Nicole and Matt, both gave it more than 100% and their connection was so transparent. They have deep caring and respect for each other. Very lovely. Matt worked so hard to get to the final prize. He deserved it so much. Nicole did a great job to train, encourage and push Matt to the limit she knew he could reach and he did not only reach it...he went flying and then soaring! I never tire of watching this positive, professional and most entertaining "Live The Final."

Agree with Elena. Most everyone fails trying to cover Prince including this Matt guy but who knew Nicole had such mad pipes!! She kills it!! Wish I could hear it with just Nicole...what an amazing voice!

Nicole is a goddess... not only is she absolutely stunning, what a voice, what a performance! She does Prince proud! I’ve listened to countless covers of that song, as well as the original more times than I could count. She just performed the best cover I’ve heard
