Born in 1976, Nico Vascellari lives
and works between Rome and Vittorio Veneto. His
research engages with various practices, including
performance, sculpture, installation, drawing, video,
and sound exploration. Through an anthropological
perspective, his works examine the connection
between humans and nature, ancient and ritual
phenomena, folklore and traditions, weaving them
together with an underground aesthetic. His solo
shows include Piazza della Signoria, Florence
(upcoming), Palazzo Reale, Milan (upcoming),
Palazzo Vecchio, Florence (2023), Palais De Tokyo,
Paris (2017) and many others in Italy, France, UK,
Albania, and Slovenia. His works have been exhibited
at various national and international events, including
the Mercosul Biennale (2022), October Salon,
Belgrade (2021), and Biennal de Lyon (2019), and in
institutions such as KW Institute for Contemporary
Art, Berlin, Museo del ’900, Milan, and Fondation
Beyeler, Basel. Vascellari’s works are part of the
permanent collections of several prestigious
museums and foundations worldwide.
