I didnt even know a such a yearbook exist, yet here we are
That crow cartoon at 25:12 is Curbside, a 1999 pilot attempting to revamp classic Terrytoons characters like Mighty Mouse, Tom Terrific and Deputy Dawg. Those crows are Heckle and Jeckle, who were meant to be talk show hosts that acted as a framing device for the cartoon shorts themselves.

I WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT THIS HOLY CRAP
It's weird that they had a yearbook consistently solely of lost employees, but it's really unsettling how many lost employees there were.

Lost employees? What do you mean by that?
@randomcommenter7343

@@genesisknight9948 it's a joke. Instead of interpreting the phrase "lost employee yearbook" as it should be where "lost" applies to the yearbook, it's willfully misinterpreting it as "lost" applying to the employees, because that's humourous. (🤓 comment)

It's super interesting seeing how they talk about these genre defying shows before they became genre defying What a neat piece of Nick history
Great the 1998 Nickelodeon Animation Studio employee yearbook has been found. I loved this era of Nickelodeon animation back then.

I dont think it was ever lost
From Wikipedia, on Hank the Cowdog: "There was a previous attempt at a TV series adaptation in the late 1990s. It was going to be produced by Nickelodeon, WildBrain and 501 Productions. The series would have blended 2D animation with live-action backgrounds. A test reel was uploaded onto Vimeo in 2015." I checked said reel, and very interestingly, I didn't spot the yearbook image in it. The lady's name is Sally, the rancher's wife, according to the voiceover, that much I do know.
I wonder if these exist for other years as well? If so, it’d be interesting to find them one day.

Oh wow, the newsletter actually mentions an unproduced Angry Beavers episode that I had never heard of until now. ("Magnum Opus," a musical rock opera-themed ep.) It's surreal to see a window into another era when, if things hadn't turned out the way they eventually did, the beaver brothers could've had even more animated adventures.
This is what I'd consider a "holy grail" of lost media. Not SpongeBob pornography

I read a lot of Hank the Cowdog books back then. Young me would have flipped to hear there was going to be a show

There was? Aww that would have been good and bone as well
Definitely take this to a print shop of some kind and get these pages scanned!
I love how in the table of contents spongebob is just t posing in his underwear
This is so cool!! I love that Zim was included, that's some rare content for sure! I love behind the scenes content like this, really helps humanize all these shows and the era. I think people get lost thinking too much about the shows themselves or the money-making business side of things, and forget that these were made by funny people just doing their job. There is certainly a ton of content like this from Nick and other studios that we will never get to see...but I'd love for the fans to get their hands on any production content that we can.
Man, this is some rare stuff. It's great that you managed to get yourself a physical copy so you could share it to us. Indeed, this is another win for lost media findings!
I read a lot of the Hank the Cowdog books as a kid, definitely never knew it might've been planned as a show at one point

It makes sense! I wish it could've happened!
For covering the year 1998, I'm honestly surprised and shocked that there isn't any "Rugrats" presence at all in this yearbook. Especially since "The Rugrats Movie" released that year, and how successful it was. Absolutely amazing find either way!
@mafeuk

My theory is that this yearbook is about in-house projects Nickelodeon was producing at the time while Rugrats was a Klasky-Csupo production, that must be also the reason there is nothing about the Wild Thornberries, Rocket Power or the then upcoming As told by Ginger.
@SLSmith_96

@@mafeuk True, you have a point. Even still, it seems weird to me that neither the yearbook, nor the summer 2000 newsletter just didn't reference any Klasky-Csupo work at all lol, not even as an easter egg.

@@mafeuk - Reptar was still in the book as seen at 16:09. But other than him (and the monsters from "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters"), there isn't anything else Klasky Csupo related in that book. So I think your theory actually has some merit.
Late 90s/Early 00s were easily the golden years of Nick. It was trult something special...I mean look at that 3D cover! I wish the 90s never ended...

Born on 2000, so ai experienced the 90s through schools’ “educational” videos. Late 00s/Early 10s were the golden years of my life. Sadly, the last will be golden years ever.
It's incredible to discover how many Nickelodeon-related projects never went anywhere
Interesting reading about the Hey Arnold stuff and how what eventually became the first Arnold movie for theaters was originally going to be a TV movie while what eventually became the jungle movie was still in early developement. Also the Patakis, very interesting.
Frankie Muniz was a regular on Fairly Oddparents? How did I not know this? Oh, he voiced Chester for the first three seasons. I never noticed because AJ's voice change was far more obvious.
5:07 if you look at the Oswald one, you can see that it mentions the lost pilot episode!

Wait, hol tf up, what?!?!
Summer 1998 is my favorite time for Nickelodeon so this is kind of amazing.
4:47 Probably one of the greatest quotes ever. ( 6:32 Those Dora ones too) 14:40 Besides that Little Beaver show (Don Chuck Monogatari/Le Petit Castor) by Studio Knack, I can't deny that Beavers were new to the North American animation scene. (I mainly know them because Pogman was drawn by the same person) 18:32 Wouldn't surprise me Butch Hartman would think of himself like he was an actual Superman. [Giggles] In my head, I always associate Zoomates as a McFarlane and Hartman thing (mostly a Hartman thing due to the desings) Neat video! Will be glad if it the scans help Poparena on Knick Knacks (or at least they'll get some laughs out of it, idk)

Insanely awesome find dude. Great stuff ❤ 4:55 that is worthy of bragging about too, I was a kid during the pokemon craze and you could not escape it 😂
I can confirm that all of the words are used in the word search. Nickelodeon wasn’t lying.
Dang, $450, but glad you got it to archive.
25:10 I believe the crow image is actually that of Heckle and Jeckle, being from the cancelled series Curbside, a failed attempt at reviving the Terrytoon characters
LETS GOOO INVADER ZIM MENTIONED
What a gem. Each page really showcases wht a fun and exciting place to work it must have been during this time.
From the description, Craig Bartlett sounds like that one popular kid in School. I wish I could meet him
I applied for the avatar trainee programs and as I crossed my fingers and hope I make it in the program- ‘ This made me even more excited and I hope that they have kept this tradition up. I would love to be apart of an employee yearbook 😊
Holy Crap I am from the Cayucos area, let me see if I can find a picture for you from that float. Those parades were pretty well documented around here. I hope I get back to you with one!
This is an incredibly important piece of Nickelodeon history
In the last year or so your content has gotten much better, keep up the good work man I mean it.
Interesting to see the then-new Spongebob page describe him as "overzealous", i think thats a pretty fitting way to describe his naive enthusiasm.
An absolute gem. Thank you for sharing this relic 😭🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing this. I saw this on Twitter. I love it so much. Now I need to make 2 videos of one subject in this video as well. Maybe three. Anyway, for now, thank you for archive videoing this.
these are incredible!! such a cool find!
awesome video, thanks for taking the time to do this
That promo image for Invader Zim towards the end of the book is kind of odd because it shows Gaz sneaking around Zim's lab for some reason. There was an episode where Gaz has to break Dib out of Zim's lab only so she can go to Bloaty's pizza, but i don't know if that episode was being made at the time that promo image was submitted for the book or not, and regardless i would have thought they would have just made an image that used Dib since that image doesn't really seem to appear in the episode anyways. So i wonder if that little detail might mean something about an earlier idea for the show that didn't go anywhere.
Thx for reviewing this cool lost piece of art!
HANK THE CORNDOG 😭😭😭 I read the crap out of those books as a kid!
22:30 Fun Fact: This TV Movie Appeared On The UK Version Of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire As A Fastest Finger First Where The Participants Had To Put The Words In The Name In The Right Order
Now you should do a few videos on KZread lost content like deleted or hidden videos from channels like Epic Meal Time and other kinds of online content.
this book has great juicy lore
That crow cartoon was called “Curbside,” and is an adaptation of TerryToons, which is where Mighty Mouse is from.
I Remember “Globehunters: An Around the World in 80 Days Adventure”
I wonder how much of the SpongeBob stuff is basically identical to the season 1 press kit that’s lost
I hope more years worth are found and you can review them
I live 15 minutes from cayucos it's interesting that they had the float there because I forget the exact association but Morro Bay right next door somehow was a big inspiration for SpongeBob maybe one of the main people who made it lived here or was from here. We're not far from LA and I wouldn't be surprised if you asked around locals might have pictures of the float might even be in local news papers we have a few

always a good day when you upload!!
The crows image is actually from Curbside, a rejected Terrytoons revival pitched to Nick with characters like Heckle and Jeckle (The ones on the picture), Mighty mouse, Tom terrific, etc..
I saw the listing on eBay! Glad you got it!! Was out of my price range 😅
D-d-d-did you say Nora? (Has flashbacks to "Twinkle Nora Rock Me")
Such a cool find man ❤
This was made by the editors of Nickelodeon magazine. Same jokes, same humor, same, same writing. All of these gags were taken directly from issues of Nick mag. I still have a few, and recognize some of them. It look as if they took a bunch of them over the year, and bounded them into a yearbook of sorts.
That spongebob artwork is just so interesting to me. I wonder why the krusty krabs uniform hat was completely blue though?
25:11 if i'm not wrong, that image is from an Terrytoons Pilot that you can find on KZread
I'm Excited to see whats in store in this video
Fun fact: It’s true that Hey Arnold’s second movie was cancelled in 2004. BUT, in 2017 Nickelodeon decided to animate it in HD and release it as a TV movie. It even had a TON of marketing on commercial breaks.
One day, there will be reboots of old Nickelodeon shows.
What an amazing find! I wonder if that archival place the yearbook advertised is still in business (could be a good place for lost media hunts).
Ah, favorite year!
Apparently 4kids entertainment did a similar kind of news letter
I am a HUUUUGE Invader Zim fan, the little Zim tidbits were incredible to see!!
Omg, I read all of the Hank the cowdog books in grade school.
About that Fairly OddParents Article in Splat News, "7 EPISODE PICKUP"!? This confirms that "Christmas Everyday" is the Season 1 Finale and not the Season 2 Premiere
I have a Nickelodeon Studios chair I found in a goodwill in middle of nowhere Illinois. There's no name on mine unlike the only other one for sale i could find. Definitely a cool piece I probably would never part ways with.
they should upade this book in the future with more nicktoons

The thumbnail for this video is so cute
I love how LSSQ just casually reads off that there was gonna be a Catdog movie, far as I know. That wasn't known, regardless. Genuinely rare or likely to get taken out of circulation like this are the only things objectively worth impulse buying. And man, the humor is both of it's time. And exactly my thing I could see the Arnold and Helga stuff being real, after all. A SpongeBob game had NSFW art hidden inside the data, as well as the... Rugrats storyboard, forgot what it's called. The one with drunk Stu And man, poor Jeff Smith. Netflix shafting their Bone adaptation was only the second time it happened
this is a great find
I stopped the video the second you showed that Lost Media Wiki footage. Someone FINALLY found WolfRockTV, or at least one episode of it.
I will make sure I show up to the next Live Stream to bring this up but it would be pretty cool if we could find all of the Moxy & Flea episodes, some have been uncovered already.

Wow, that is amazing. Fine, right there. Also, can you share all the page image on archive?
You should make a video about lost media that was found on eBay
"Don't vaporize people's heads" Gir that one time his head exploded:
I think the crows could be from the failed pilot 'Curbside'. Edit: I looked it up, and yep, it is from Curbside.
This is pretty cool! But can we talk about the BFDIA jumpscare at the beginning- lmfao 0:27
The mention of the Bone Movie makes me sad to no end.
7:20 as someone who comes from a long long line of dirty bikers, i’m so obsessed with this
I wonder if those hey Arnold spicy pictures was real
It's not related, but the little running VHS tape in your endscreen is so adorable.
A video on My Life as a Teenage Robot lost media would rock
always a good day when spongebob lost media resurfaces
Oh so it was always intended to make Fairly Odd a full series
Do you think you could make a scanned pdf of this thing? It would be cool to virtually be able to flip through it, ya know?
Oooo very cool
It’s lmpossible to work there now I’ve applied so many times
Hello! I just love your videos! is there any way I can contact you about a show pilot you have never mentioned before in any videos that I am extremely curious about that really want to discuss with you?
Usually the ads in the back of a school yearbook are paid ads that help to fund the publishing of the book. Maybe this was true of the Nickelodeon one too?
21:41 theres a typo that says "i'm read, im ready!" instead of "i'm ready, i'm ready!"
