Burger King did have Krabby Patties on their menu back when the first movie came out 20 years ago.

The only reason I'm semi-okay with this is because there's not just one version that's a definitive Krabby Patty, so I see it as less Nick out-and-out disrespecting the legacy and more just trying a whole bunch of different interpretations. There's no one version being considered canon, so I feel it's no different than a fan trying to recreate it themselves. If they unfortunately are doing it at all, at least they're doing it like this.

I'm ok with this. Before you get your pitchforks out let me explain. 1: this is a collaboration with actual chefs, not fast food joints. Mr Hillenburg's issue was with fast food. 2: it's only a guess on what they actually are, not any kind of real formula(the one I personally subscribe to is the food theory formula that uses red algae) 3: it's limited time for SpongeBob's anniversary, 25 is a big deal, so something like this is ok for as big of a milestone as 25.

Nick did something similar with the good burger 2 good burger meal at arby's. it tasted good, but at twice my daily calorie intake i don't really think that was okay to advertise to kids. Even if they make something totally innaccurate to the show (in quality and ingredients) if they promote it to kids thats a whole new low.

Hey Vail, I went to the Spongebob Crazy Carnival Ride Experience in Las Vegas 2 days ago and it was fun!

big thing is the food isn't fast food. they're bringing chefs in to make restaurant quality food, therefore not breaking the "fast food" part of the rule and the main reasoning behind it

A lot of stuff has sure been altered since Hillenburg's passing. Unfortunately, I live in an area where a Krabby Patty will most likely not be served for a while, but as a major Spongebob fan, I would very much like to try it. As long as it's served with nothing but the cheese and the sauces, cuz I'm not the biggest fan of vegetables.

Can't say I'm' surprised to hear that Nickelodeon continues to go against the wishes of the deceased creator. @@Mr.Feather130 My honest opinion on this debacle is Stephen Hillenburg made those rules YEARS ago in SpongeBob's early days and he also said something similar to spin offs and we got the Patrick Star show, maybe he also changed his mind to this.

It is sad. The man is dead and now they’re doing stuff like this. I mean yeah. Trying a Krabs patty is cool and all. But we can’t forget what Stephen wanted

It's like Nickelodeon is glad he's dead since they have full control now.

At least they’re finding a workaround and not breaking the rules And like Steven said he doesn’t want to be the fast food pipe piper and Nick doesn’t have to be like that because other chefs can do it for him (I feel so wrong for saying that)

I think the best thing they could've done for a real version of the Patty while keeping Stephen's wish would be an official SpongeBob cookbook with a Krabby Patty recipe, and it could even have a part scribbled out by krabs representing the secret ingredient

I know you may want to try a Krabby Patty, but PLEASE, PLEASE do not give Nickelodeon money, Hillenberg (OG SpongeBob creator) LITERALLY had a set of golden rules before he died, one of which being "NEVER MAKE THE KRABBY PATTY REAL!". They are LITERALLY disrespecting a dead man's wish, please do not give the cash cow the money it wants.

They already broke Steven’s rules. He didn’t want any spin-off shows to happen. Kamp Koral and The Patrick Star Show.

If any of you guys hate this solely because it "disrespects Stephen Hillenburg" yet were excited for the falsely rumored Squidward TV show, you guys are hypocrites and should be ashamed of yourselves.

Imagine if Spongebob was picked up by Cartoon Network? Either the show would've ended in the movie's release. Or the show would still be produced but with more care and respect for it.
