SUGGESTED VOICEOVER:
The historic Windsor Castle was the venue for the latest awards ceremony in Nick Faldo's illustrious career.
The 52-year-old received his knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II on the back of a 30 year in golf that saw him win the Open and Masters three times and twice claim the European Order of Merit.
Faldo also made11 Ryder Cup appearances, winning a record 23 points and helping Europe to victory five times.
His most recent Ryder Cup experience as captain however was less successful as his 2008 European team slipped to defeat against the US at Valhalla in Kentucky, United States.
Faldo was watched during the castle investiture by his four children, Natalie, Matthew, Georgia and Emma and says the day had been a special one.

Faldo's major victories all fell within a nine-year stretch between 1987 and 1996, a period during which he dominated the sport.
On Tuesday he said they all meant a great deal to him.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
You know the first major is obviously quite something, because a bit like today you just don't know what to expect. There's the total apprehension of it all and you get through that. And I am very proud that I won probably three of my majors with the intention to. I was world number one, all that and go and lay and I'm favourite. But to go and do it. Build yourself up and prepare and go and do it was for me pretty special. And then '96 when I beat Greg (Norman) at the Masters was very special because I wasn't as confident as back in say 1990 or '92. I really pushed myself mentally through that one and I did so hat's special. They're all, as you can imagine, they're all...they sit pretty dear with me.

He is the second golfer to be knighted after Sir Henry Cotton, who accepted the honour in 1987 but died later that year meaning it was bestowed posthumously.
