In all honesty, he may have had an upbringing where he didn't see his dad as much as other kids did. Whether that's good or bad depends on the family I suppose. But most importantly, he's spending a LOT of time with his father now.

For one. I don't think Phil would let him be there in that seat if he couldn't handle the job. I don't Jr. would be there either if he didn't have esteem for Phil as his father and as a musician. You don't play your Dad's signature licks publicly if you don't have some love for him. Phil is highly respected by musicians in general, most of all with those he's worked with. Stuermer, Sklar and others would lose respect for Phil if he put his unqualified son in the chair. After seeing one of the concerts on video, he handled it great. Now, he'll never be "Phil Collins" of course. As far as other bands... if they're real musicians and really about the music...he won't get by just being PHil Collins son. They'll shut him down quick, I'm sure.

Nic is an animal of percussion and talent flows through his veins! I saw them at the Instituto Stadium (Córdoba - Argentina) last year and I made my dream come true to meet Phil, my musical idol. A strong and warm embrace in the distance!

Nicholas definitely has his immensely talented Dad Phil’s genes but he has obviously worked hard too to be so accomplished at his tender age. Beautiful kit nic.. I love the white finish.. it looks exactly like what your dad had way back in the day man.. and I love how the toms have no bottom heads. It gives them a really big sound.. almost like cannons, lol.. that's a very amazing, clean, and beautiful drum kit..very nice.. I'm a huge fan of your dads work, and his drumming.. he's a huge influence on my playing for sure.. especially his Genesis days.. anyway, keep up the great work and thank you for sharing your drum kit and the video.. very cool stuff man.. take care, cheers..

it's the most amazing video i have ever seen since some days-weeks -months :)) how can you imagine he played almost with his kit with his sound !! incredible idea i was not fan in the beginning but it's cool he played with a similar kit and pretty close to his playing ! about the interview if his dad had done that before it would have been fantastic but no so, we have his son talking about drums and it"s pretty cool ! his kit is a fabulous kit !
