    An impressive and well choreographed effort by the pit crew. Not one curse or display of anger among these guys. Thanks Brian.

    The title scared me a bit . I thought you witnessed an accident during the race . Awesome video . Them techs are awesome. the reason for the scare was due to the crash at the Reno air races. I took my wife to the Saturday event and watched the pilot mount up his steed and race. Broke our hearts to find out he perished the following day. God bless Brian. Be safe and healthy always

    I’m pretty sure I grew up not too far from where you are, and this is a weird comment, but you have the most natural Utah accent I’ve heard from any KZreadr (including Heavy D and Matt included.) I love it! It’s a nice slice of home. Again, sorry for the weird comment. 😅✌️

    I worked a Raceway Park in Englishtown back in the late 60's and early 70's so I would catch some glimpses of this but I did meet a bunch of the great ones. Big Daddy, Shirley, Dyno Don, Grumpy Jenkins, Ronnie Sox, and Dick Landy to name a few. Hey my clutch is slipping can ya change it and how long will it take? Sure we can it'll be about twenty minutes, you want you a new engine too? Wonder when they are going to start racing ev's? Great video. Happy Motoring.

    That's amazing! I actually saw a prototype drag car that weekend on display. It was nowhere near the performance, but it wasn't build by billionaires either. I may post that on Wednesday.

    So, just how many minutes of operation between overhauls is that. Makes an engine a lot simpler if you do not have to worry about things like long life, cooling or stuff like that, and the only concern is making absolutely full power for 5 seconds or so.

    0:59 I missed the tire tread shred. I still don't see it frame-by-frame.

  • @briansmobile1

    @briansmobile1

    The tire didn't shred. A whole body, engine and clutch was torn to pieces in 18 minutes like a cow being disassembled by piranhas. That part of the video starts at 1:23 We weren't close to the starting line- we didn't have VIP status on this race, just access. I don't know if you could even see that up close if it was the tire slipping on the rim. Maybe only on high speed.

    @@briansmobile1 I see. My brother bragged he could rebuild a 350 in 6 hours. Tearing apart a whole car in 18 is something to see, but they're made to come apart fast & easy. I bet it was fun watching in person. 😃

    Nobody rebuilds an engine after each race, drag week and sick week kind of events are more realistic and much more rewarding. This is just excessive and wasteful, they should go electric and just spend the time they are rebuilding the engine charging batteries :D

  • @briansmobile1

    @briansmobile1

    You are right about the wastefulness & the disconnect from what they do and what we have the means to do. I'll have to post a video on the electric drag car I saw. Right now their numbers would draw a lot of amps, but wouldn't draw crowds the way the current NHRA cars have for decades and somewhat still do. What the NHRA is now is the product of evolution over time with a focus on winning and fueled by sponsor money. Without the history or the accessibility of what went into it, it can be harder to appreciate the crescendo that it is now. For better or worse, the sound that you feel in your chest wouldn't be there with electric machines. The electric versions would run slower times... for now. However those who are building electric cars would have a connection to that type of N(Electric)HRA race. Just like those who build drag cars from the 1950's up to now connected with and created a culture that over time became the NHRA. When they attend races, they see and hear things that ignite memories of driving, racing, building and bonding in their glory years. That creates a bond or kinship between them and those currently racing and living their glory years. I couldn't help but notice most of the fans with the most effects of loyalty on their garb were on Jazzy scooters or had supplemental oxygen or toupee's and also had a lot of money doing whatever business it was that paid for their racing days. Now they are spending that money on bringing their kids and grand kids to the race because they had been doing it for years as a tradition. Some people worked long hours and took great risks in business to be able to afford to race. They provided services in a competitive way to win in their industries. I solute them for that. I feel frustration for the loss of businesses competing for my business. It seems like a lost art today.

    Here's an example. You've got Steve Huff in his AES sponsored Current Electric dragster setting a world record at Midnight in AZ. Virtually no one was even there to watch it happen. Those in the know- that is those involved are ecstatic, but most don't even break the silence because their jaws are dropped while listening to the tires clear down the track. It's crazy cool stuff! Yet it's also so different to experience. Those who love the sounds, smells and roars of the drag strip aren't sure what to make of it. It's like watching the creative destruction of the noisy clap smack DING! of the typewriter by the clicky computer word processor. kzread.info/dash/bejne/a5as2bOee8u_iLQ.html

    @@briansmobile1 I think this is just the beginning, it will get faster in time, don't get me wrong I love the smell of petrol in the morning and I don't think that I will be able to afford a fast electric car in the near future, I can barely keep my 97 2 liter turbo Forester on the road
