@@TegridyMadeGames Which kind of normal elementary school has programming classes? Easy: The ones from the future. Humans have been continuously moving the goalpost of what is possible. “Gifted individuals” don’t exist in a vacuum, they’re the result of extremely successful teaching practices from a very young age, those that cultivate the children’s natural curiosity, helping them develop a passion for learning. It’s a social achievement as much as a technical one. Research about how talent is developed is promising. We likely won’t see that with our own eyes, though. Societies (and their teaching models) change very slowly so they’ll take a long time before catching up with what is possible for a few people right now.

This girl has lived through a more diverse tech career than mine in 4 years than my 25 years 😂! Kids sure grow up fast now. I loved how out of touch I felt when she listed her low-level languages were c and rust whilst I was expecting assembly with all the microcontroller projects she's worked with; I remember I was on the other side of that reaction when I was in college and an elder was asking me about the languages I knew and was surprised I didn't mention COBAL 😂. I'm so pround of this kid and hope she continues to find her joy and passions well into her adulthood free of the crappy adult baggage we tend to smother kids' creativity with.

16:41 I think one point that may not be apparent to some people is that Angelina is emphasizing that the neural network she implemented is a CNN (Convolutional Neural Network), which is architecturally different from a GPT type neural network. It is not designed to generated anything, but to extract features and patterns from input data. I think many people nowadays associate ML or neural networks automatically to chatGPT or LLM/generative type networks, which is not the case. There are many types of ML/deep learning networks.

21:42 YES!! I am a sailor and instead of ADSB we use AIS. Ones on the Sea of Marmara I saw a ship appear on the AIS receiver. It was set to be on collision course with me. If it was real I had to alter course quickly, but I hesitated for a while. I couldn't see it on my radar or visually. My heart was POUNDING in my throat. If that happened during bad visibility or during a storm I would have altered course. I need to make one for AIS!

Whatever your passion is, then that's what a young person should get to pursue the rest of their highschool years. Instead of continue to teach history and all these unnecessary classes... Still close to nothing remained of all the lessons I had because I hated it and found it boring. Yet physics and maths is almost as fresh as if it was taught to me yesterday because I loved what I was doing. Good teachers also are vital to intrigue interest in young minds.

Very impressive young woman. I didn't get started until age 30. I got started in a factory after I seen them connect a computer to a PLC and I enrolled in tech school. I learned than, started learning arduino, then C, java, assembly, python, rust. Its easier once you know a few because it seems a lot of it overlaps a bit. Some more than others.

Truly a great interview. This young woman's intellect and focus has greatly renewed my hope for the future of humanity. Fostering the natural interests and inclinations of gifted and indeed all children is so important. It's wonderful to hear that she teaches and mentors younger people in addition to doing her professional research and programming. Inspirational!

Go Angelina! -- and respectfully; I can't help to think how many neuroscientists would love to study her brain simply to learn more how to unlock the drive and passion that she processes! Her dedication and ethics are a true inspiration for most of us in the field, and even those on other fields.

Really fascinating interview. A lot of the topics were very engaging bc I am scanner radio enthusiast, including monitoring aircraft and sat frequencies. Also I'm a ham radio operator and have worked ISS and sats. And I'm a computer, opensource and linux enthusiast. All my machines and servers run linux.

The child is enthusiastic and I wish her luck. By 18 she has built good hobby projects and hence, she must have developed good programming skills. David must do more such episodes with millions of other kids who also do similar kind of projects. These kinds of videos are really a huge encouragement for kids.

Bruh, her dad died when she was young. They live in a city where the cost of living is tough even for a dual income family. Having privilege doesn't equal success. She took the opportunities in front of her and made the most out of it. Not many people have the desire to wake up at 4am and learn. Many people her age are busy trying to get famous or go viral. She's taking the time to not only learn, but to help others as well. Think about that before you make an uneducated assumption that everyone in the US has it easy.
