These laps of honour around the pitch at the end of every trophy-less season is very cringey. How about doing this sort of thing when, lo and behold, there’s an actual reason to celebrate? Bruno’s probably embarrassed to be doing this. The guy wants to win trophies. Not ‘play pretend’. “But, but, but…look where we’ve come from. 3 years ago we were getting relegated…It’s a 5yr, wait, 10yr project…we can’t buy success because of FFP…blah, blah, blah”. There I’ve said all the excuses to justify mediocrity, so don’t bother!
