They bring him up and now want to platoon him with JD Davis! Good point. Apparently , Gleyber didn't learn anything from the Gary Sanchez example. As far as Boone is concerned , his job is that of the enabler. Besides making the game moves which he does with the same efficacy as pandering to the overpaid atheletes.

Torres is a cancer on this team and The Yankees need to get rid of him. He blew the game against the Mets last night and he's a sad sack loser. If they keep him, he's going to lose them a game or two in the playoffs and if they make it to the World Series, he's going to lose a game and probably the World Series for them. Boone is just as much to blame to keep on playing him. And batting him fourth? WTF? And Yankees announcers are way too easy on him. Release him today! And send a message to the rest of the Yankees.

Torres is a lazy bum, with a garbage attitude and a miniscule baseball I-Q. And he is a cancer to this Team. Has been for quite a while now. Yankees were 61-21 after a 102 games in 2022, finished 99-63 so they finished under 500 since that record 38-42. And once again I'm seeing this same nonsense with this team, as long as that Clown Boone is the Manager us Yankees fans should expect this unfortunately.

Why the hell did Boone just get a contract extension? He's playing these old players that are batting under .200. You said it all. Volpe better stop swinger on the first pitch of the game. As a lead off hitter your job is to take pitchers deep into counts. The relief pitchers are already showing signs of wear and tear. This happens every year. The young starters get into the 6th inning and are doing well. Maybe they gave up three hits. One out in the sixth inning the starter gives up only his fourth hit, but he's near that damn 100 pitch count. Every time Boone will go into the bullpen. A vet pitching is having a bad day and Boone will leave him in there to get hammered. BOONE SUCKS ASS. - -I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID BADDOG.

Agree. His ceiling is probably low-to low-middle. But he is solid - and he will give you everything he's got. He gets hot at times, and rakes. He's rock solid at 3rd, 2nd, and can handle a little SS in and emergency. And he can play LF. I like what he gives us. Meanwhile... Tore-Ass kills this Team. Gets worse every year, with his garbage attitude, and laziness. And he's stupid. One of the dumbest ball players I literally have ever seen. That, and laziness, is a terrible combination.

I am a Mets fan and have no symphony for the Yankees. Let's go Giants. I love your Giants broadcast, though..

I have never liked Torres because of his lack of hustle since he became a Yankee. Stanton hustles more than him. They don't have faith in their younger players, so they get to sit on the bench and not get any consistent playing time. How the heck can you get better if you sit all of the time?

He probably does not beat the throw anyway, but when he made no effort to get to first after Judge gave them new life with that grand slam, it just seemed to zap their spirit completely. Seems like he basically turned a hot streak against a crappy Orioles team in 2019 into complete immunity. And DJ baffles me. How did he just hit a wall like that? He was so exceptional at keeping a level swing his first two (well, one and one-third) seasons. Now he is so exceptional at grounding into DPs.

All the Yankees need is a new first baseman, second baseman, third baseman, catcher, closer, and ace starting pitcher here and they’ll be fine. Cash has this. Hope Gleyber saved his money. He’s not getting much of a contract. Definitely not with the Yankees. LOL

It does make sense. You need to keep your young guys. You can't continuously trade and grab the big F/A out there. However... and possibly to your point.... Brian Cashman has the Worst timing of any GM I have followed. He holds onto them too long, until they're once hot trade value diminishes to nothing... and he holds onto the wrong ones, often times. I can not figure that guy out. He's a bad GM.

Torres gives me Javy Baez vibes like damn you see how Baez plays now and the money he is making and 29 teams take a collective sigh of relief that they weren’t the ones who signed him! As much as I’d like to poop on Boone let’s be real he has no control over this team he doesn’t make lineups he doesn’t make game decisions I think that’s fair to say so we can’t poop on him or give him credit when things are good, one last thing I hear so many fans saying “at least we still have one of the best records and are still in first” listen the only reason the Yankees are in the position they are was due to that historic pitching run the starters had, that’s over now we are dealing with reality and the reality is this lineup is awful! 1-3 might be the best in baseball 4-9 the worst, they are right there with the white Sox 4-9! This feels like the pipes have bursted on Cashman’s patch job yeah Soto was a great move but he never seems to be able to find role players let’s not forget they let SD get Arraez who could have been a massive upgrade for the yanks at second base and they could have got rid of Torres who has cost the Yankees like 10-15 games this year on his errors and lazy overall play!

That's why they need to make a few moves before the teade dead-line, and to include internal moves, with some of the youth that's coming along - and getting healthy. Such as The Martian coming back. The rookie 1B maybe. Peraza comes back. Etc. And they need to dump Torres and bench Rizz and DJ... and upgrade there. Another BP arm as well. One or 2 really solid but doable trade moves. And then... some of these young guys get back from injury, and re-join the club. Sit the old dudes down... or dump them. Roster decisions are tough tho - with limited roster spots... and big contracts. It's a mess after 1/2/3/4

And Gleyber not hustling, I know when I played baseball, I sometimes made the fielder rush the throw because I actually ran hard. I've been waiting for this Baddog, and I have to say, as usual, you did not disappoint 😂 I used to really like Gleyber, but after last night I'm starting to truly think his Yankee days might be numbered. That missed ground ball was SO bad.

Baddog, I felt this way after the 1st Orioles series: The Yanks are an average team (at best) with a really good record. Unless they make some major moves at the deadline, they're cooked. So frustrating.

It changes the minute they get rid of Cashmen and Yes man Boone. Yankees need a GM that can evaluate talent.

I get that you can't have great players at every position, but I just don't understand why they couldn't upgrade at least one infield spot in the offseason. You need a durable and consistent lineup in order to compete and win. This is why I never bought the whole "all in" nonsense. How can you believe that you'd get consistent secondary production from a bunch of slow, old, bats that can't seem to handle major league pitching anymore or continue to show faith in inconsistent players like Torres. Cashman will address the bullpen, he excels at that, but finding quality bats at the deadline is going to be difficult because so many teams believe they can get into the playoffs rendering it a seller's market. They're going to have to give up a lot to get bullpen arms, now they MUST get an impact bat which could cost a fortune in prospect capital. I'm just disgusted with this team and how it's been run the last few years. Even if they make the playoffs, changes have to be made. I don't know how Boone still has a job.

Too late now. They should have kept him 3 years ago. Time to move on now, with his age. But Cashman should have never gotten rid of him. He wasn't a problem. Quite the contrary - he was rock solid offensively, in that lineup, as well as defensively. So Cash gets rid of him.... and goes out and pays Josh Donaldson $50trillion - when the entire league knew he was washed up. Pplus a HORRIBLE locker-room guy.
