I had faith that Gil could break the skid against the Orioles. I was nervous since Burnes was pitching, but I told myself, "Gil is super talented and if anyone can snap the losing streak, it's him." Lo and behold, he did it. Holmes was absolutely filthy as well, I love it. Shout out to the lovable Oswaldo Cabrera as well-- he did it again

Holmes has that Dawg in him 😤. That’s 118 consecutive batters faced without allowing a HR. I know it won't last forever, but damn this is some impressive stuff we are seeing from him. An unblemished ERA is a thing of beauty.

@@GSP-76 yea probably so. Nobody has been bad though, that's what's going to make it a tough decision. You hate to punish someone for being ok but not great, but that's what's going to happen. Gil has proved himself, I want to see him stay in the rotation. Biggest surprise to me has been Rodon though, I was about ready to give up on him last year and call it a really expensive loss.

@@theywouldnthavetocensormei9231 I thought Rodon would be a total flop and waste of $160m but he's definitely proven himself this season so far. I think the biggest concern with him was whether he'd be able to handle playing in NY and the pressure but he's really adjusted since the injury. Yankees having 6 quality starters is only going to help the team. They can call on a slew of quality arms.

@@GSP-76 very true, it's a good problem to have. Cortes would make a pretty handy spot starter/long reliever, that could be huge in the playoff run. Plus it's nearly impossible that nobody in the rotation will need to miss a few starts, most teams have to spot start an opener in those situations, Yankees could have a legit rotation guy to fill in as needed.

We needed this bad so tomorrow we have a chance to at least split the series. Rodon on the hill. Let's get it

How great starting the month off right with a win and stealing a game from a top favorite AL cy young in corbin our pitching today was sensational too it's nice to be the one giving out shutouts for once

This is why clay is the closer bc when he is on he is almost unhittable… hearing the masn network call that 8th they said his stuff is cartoonish, then the color commentator said it’s like what u do in the backyard with a whiffle ball… the movement on his ball at his height when he is right is unreal!!

Low scoring series between 2 elite teams, it's been fun to watch. Let's hope for the split and stay on top of the division. I've tried not to complain, because we're winning, but this is not the best we can be, the offense has been inconsistent, we're still missing our ace. I think this is a 100 win team, they just need to start firing from all cylinders.

You’re hearing it here first: Wells has the underlying numbers this season that suggest that he will become an elite offensive powerhouse behind the dish, with some great framing abilities to go along with it. He just needs some time for his slow start to regress to what is expected based on his batted ball profile.

What bothered me about the first two games in the series (and I missed this one, unfortunately) was that we had the hits in us... we just could never string together more than one or two, and even when we were in a threatening position, it always seemed to be with two outs. At least in this one, two runs was enough.

We need to focus on not swinging at 💩 pitches. Idk why the Yankees have that issue so bad. They will do great one game at not swinging at bad pitches and then next game swing at anything.

I am confused about how the Yankees this season can go from winning multiple games by 10 or more runs. To losing back to back games while going scoreless. The month of April, I feel had more shutouts then I would say the whole last year season. There are too many hitters to be going scoreless like that.
