New York to New Haven Route Information:
The sprawling Big Apple and the bustling city of New Haven come together in the exciting new NEC: New York-New Haven route for Train Simulator, featuring many of New York's famous landmarks and advanced signalling throughout.
Joining the USA's most populated city, New York, to Connecticut's second largest city, New Haven, the original line was completed in 1849; classic American steam trains were the first to use the line before it was electrified in the early 20th century. It also forms part of the longer Northeast Corridor, which runs from Boston to Washington D.C.
The 75 mile (120km) route for Train Simulator features two of New York's most famous train terminals, Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station, both within four blocks of each other but serving two different routes through The Big Apple.
The stunning and imperious Grand Central Station in New York -- once home to the great passenger trains of the New York Central - is Metro-North's southernmost point of its Harlem Line. An underground station, trains depart Grand Central via the Park Avenue Tunnel and Park Avenue Viaduct to Harlem along third-rail lines towards Mount Vernon and New Rochelle.
New York Penn Station -- otherwise known as Pennsylvania Station -- is Amtrak's mainline New York station for Northeast Corridor services. Running through the East River Tunnels underneath the City, the line passes the imposing Sunnyside Yard -- a 192 acre Amtrak coach yard -- towards New Rochelle, crossing the stunning Hell Gate Bridge, through Astoria Queens and Upper Manhattan.
At New Rochelle, both Metro-North and Amtrak lines merge and continue north on overhead catenary, keeping in sight of Long Island Sound, offering impressive views across Connecticut State, and through Stamford, Bridgeport and Milford, before arriving at New Haven Union Station.
Many branch lines duck and dive off the main line through New York, including the Yankee Branch, which serves the New York Yankees Stadium on baseball match days, and the New Canaan Branch north of Stamford, serving one of the wealthiest communities in the US.
Long-distance Amtrak passenger services along the New York-New Haven line are increasingly operated by ultra-modern ACS-64 electric locomotives, which first entered service in February 2014. Built by Siemens for Amtrak, the ACS-64 is designed to replace the existing fleet of AEM-7 and HHP-8 locomotives on the route. With a maximum power output of 8,600hp, the locomotive is capable of accelerating 18 Amfleet cars to a maximum speed of 125mph in little over eight minutes and is fitted with advanced, state-of-the-art safety systems.
Freight operations on the line are a common sight too, often being pulled by CSX Transportation locomotives. The EMD SD40-2, included with this route, was introduced between 1972 and 1986 and was an upgrade to the SD40 series. Modular electronic control systems give the locomotive more reliability and economy than its competitors, even though it is not as powerful, making it one of the best-selling locomotives of all time.

Very nice video! It's hard for me to watch the scenery while I'm concentrating on the scenario, so thank you for showing me how nice the route is.

They need an NYC or London subway add-on. I love the outdoors and scenic routes, but a subway route is long overdue and would bring a new flavor for the sim. Shouldn't take to long to make too, considering they wouldn't have to model and map entire routes, just parts of the underground stations and subway system.

Entertaining America Yeah, you're definitely not alone on those thoughts lol. I guess it's just something that we will need to see if it ever happens, and it sucks that the Developers don't give us any idea's on what is planned for the future until a Month before something actually gets released. Giving us an outline of the potential content coming can definitely motivate people to stick around, rather than trying to find other alternatives like the London Underground Simulator for Subway Routes.

Very nice video you could do this with all your current routes you own to show their true beauty. This would be a stunning way to show off the Canadian Mountain Passes route.

***** Yup don't worry I will be. Already have the Riviera Line recorded, just need to Edit and upload. Next I'll do the Canadian Passes Route for you, was going to be further down the list as it's longer, but next I have a spare few Hours I'll do the Recording. Not sure why I never thought of doing this before, but it is kinda cool seeing the Route in this way.

***** K, so Riviera is all Edited, but won't upload it for a few days, but just letting you know that I've started recording the Canadian Passes Route, because it's pretty long [first half of the Route takes 3 Hours], then I won't be sticking to the Speed limits =P so if all goes well and I don't derail, I should hopefully have it all Recorded and Edited to upload on the Weekend.

EmissionGaming awesome looking forward to it and if you get the Fraser and Cariboo route, it will be bug free thanks to me helping squash a bug involving the bulkhead flatcars that come with the route. good luck and don't derail during the recording. Personally if you have a derailment they should allow you to see what happened using the free camera. when trains derail they can be quite spectacular. It would be nice to see the logjam effect happen like MSTS clips i've seen.

Hey, Great clip! I'm just curious, is access to GCT via Park Avenue Main line possible? Since its mapped, but can't seem to access it, except NYP. Even via free roam. Or is this when the M-8 EMU is out? Thanks!

The [Transport Net] Hi, thanks =] I'm not too knowledgeable on these matters, so not exactly sure which line is Part Avenue, so my apologies [still learning a lot], but you should be able to get to GCT on the line near New Rochelle. It shouldn't have been locked prior M8's release, as I had a play around in there when the Route was first released. So strange that you couldn't access it through Free Roam. Anyway, let me know if that is the info you were looking for.

amtraklover984 Basically, the Game Engine doesn't utilize all Hardware the way it should, as it's very out-dated. I haven't done anything to make it run good, I'm just one of the Lucky ones. I do still encounter the "jitters" every 30 - 60 seconds though.
