New York Times Bestseller Jay Shetty on Turning Pain into Purpose

He’s a #1 New York Times bestselling author, host of the On Purpose podcast, and has over 28 million followers on Facebook alone. Jay Shetty, a former monk, spreads his unique brand of inspiration by talking about mental wellness and finding your purpose in life. While living as a monk, he learned to train his brain to overcome negativity, manage his thoughts, strengthen his empathy, and more. In general, these practices enhance overall brain function.
As someone who advocates the importance of self-awareness, however, ‪@jayshetty‬ wanted to know even more about his own brain. That’s why he visited psychiatrist and brain health expert Dr. Daniel Amen at Amen Clinics to get a brain SPECT scan. SPECT measures blood flow and activity in the brain and reveals areas of the brain with healthy activity, low activity, or too much activity.
“I’m at a place in my life where I don’t want to be irresponsible about my own health and well-being, and if I can see my brain and see what I can improve, this is the best place to come for brain health,” says Shetty in an episode of Scan My Brain at Amen Clinics.

Is there a place where we can see longer versions of these videos? It’d be amazing. Thanks

Thank you ! I sometimes wonder if my getting hit in the head, by a boy swinging a baseball bat, caused me to have a short memory problem all my life? I’m 70 now and wish I had known you earlier in my life. I love your videos and thankful for all you do for others! Gail from Michigan!

Jay, you are so powerful. You guys change the frequency of the room, and you showed what true compassion looks like 👍🏼 btw it would be nice if you added her name also as she was in the beginning of the video

She's his wife but she seems to be the tagalong in every sense... Definitely a comfort woman, not a growth partner. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I think Jay Shetty did not want to share his results with the world. Because the video didn’t really have any substance about him.

What was the point of this? It was like a bad ad that lacks substance! Dr Amen I love your work : your innovative thinking, and your purpose. It is so important to change the dialogue about mental health to be about a physical health issue that can be changed, an evolving landscape. But this kind of 'advertising' is regressing your cause. Even if you shared the detail of every spect scan you conducted, and what you know/learn/can teach about it, you would still be the pioneer on this subject. So why do you share what you know on such a superficial level? Why not share everything you learn, enter into an international dialogue about it, and expand the subject as a new frontier of mental health? Why use your channel as a cheap advertising forum rather than an educational forum?
