When standing on the shore of Lake Superior...one can't tell the difference of the views from standing on the shore of an ocean! The only difference is the smell of salt water is present at the ocean. Both are beautiful and awe-inspiring! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. Have a blessed New Year!

Found a beautiful agate with my wife at Grand Marais this morning just as it was getting lite. We were hunting yooperlites at night. Excellent start to the new year hunt. I've been hunting Van's Beach in Leland for blues just about every day this winter. Such a fun snow less winter. Happy new year and happy hunting.

What a cool and unusual way to ring in the new year! Awesome the two of you got to experience that together! I would love to see the agate...the agate I found was pretty tiny...but at least it was an agate...the only agate I ever found on New Years Day! Thank you for watching! Did your by chance make a video of your find so inquisitive eyes could take a peak... lol 😂 oh, did you find any yooperlites? And was it super cold there...was there any snow over that way? Happy New Year!

The big dark birds may be cormorants. Kind of looks like it, not sure! Happy new year to you and your sweet family. Many blessings for the best year ever! We’ve been out at Lake Huron in Rogers City a few times since the 1st but it sure is getting cold. It’s been a good rockhounding Winter so far! Blessings to you and yours!

I'm going to try to hike to Vermilion on Thursday...weather permitting. And my guess for the birds are cormorants also! Happy New Year!

Thank you Up North...for watching and commenting. I'm currently planning an all day hike to Vermilion on Thursday...any later than that and the beach will be frozen over I'm afraid. The waves will keep the snow off a few more days until the icebergs set in. We shall see. Have a blessed New Year...and stay warm 😊😊😊

Happy New Year's my friend! Hope you enjoyed your holidays! Crazy the difference in weather and waves from one side of the point to the other. I wasn't ready for it to get cold again, but it is the season. I'm glad you updated us about the guy who was in a coma, your prayers helped him through his journey! Nice fossils, that one looked like syringopora with all the tiny holes going through it, cool agate too! Great views up there on the lake, water and the sound of water, waves, rain, river flowing are all so peaceful and grounding! Awesome town there with the lighthouse, me and my wife always enjoy seeing new lighthouses and going through them if able too, history is amazing. Thanks for sharing your light and inspiring us!

I knew that if you watched the video you would shed some light on my finds...😂 I can count on you for identifying fossils! I'm totally in the dark...save a Petoskey stone😅. Thank you for the encouraging comments...so happy you also treasure the still moments just looking at the water and sky...I could have sat there for an hour....if it wasn't so dang cold that is...I was freezing today! I had to break out my emergency fleece! It is so amazing what the conditions can be like from one side to the other... it amazes me everytime! Happy New Year my friend! I will keep you posted when we hear more from our friend...it's a slow process but the Doctors are amazed...they didn't think he would pull out. Apparently he woke up and spoke on his own the night before they were going to pull the plug...it's truly a miracle! Is your daughter feeling better? Did your wife stay healthy?

@upperpeninsulabeautiful thank you, my wife luckily only got some minor effects from it, me and my son are still feeling it, but everyday I can feel it getting slightly better, it just lasting a while. Possibly might take tomorrow off work, praying one more day will help, but I'm also the type to just deal with it and tough it out. It's not covid at least. Wow, that truly is a miracle, the day before, what a sign! I'm glad you brought an emergency fleece. Those moments are special, I enjoy taking those times for the experience and connection with nature, it's really a sign and our Lord sharing the word through special moments in time. Stay blessed my friend!

My largest I found when I was sixteen...1.76 pounds...it was stolen two years later. At Vermilion I've found most of my big ones...two over 12 ounces and a couple half pounders. At Wildcat I found my second largest at .99 pounds...so close to a pounder yet not. Do you have pictures of your big one from two hearted? I have a KZread short featuring one of my 12 ounces from Vermilion. I need to make another video sharing one of my jars and another big one. Thank you for watching and sharing...would love to see your agate!🤗

Most of my agates have gone into jars with a little bleach and water. The bigger ones get oiled and put on a shelf. Lately I've been throwing them all back or giving them to other people on the beach. That said, since I've been going to Whitefish Point I havent found many at all. I'm going to try to hike to Vermilion Point on Thursday if it's not too cold or two windy...if it's above 30 I will try to make it. My aunt really wants a nice agate... Vermilion is the place for great agates...also two hearted is good as you know! Do you live in the Upper Peninsula? Do you hunt agates much? If you look at some of my videos I made in August...I share many of my agate jars!

@@amitamodzelewski3425 lots of people use mineral oil in jars....I just have always used water and a little bleach...then if I want to look at them later they still look natural. But mineral oil does make them stand out. My wife's family is from the Gaylord area...were going to check out that sumac when we get back down there!
