Thank You! "Ningen Isu" is the name of a short story by Edogawa Rampo. It is from the 1920's. He wrote a lot of horror, and as the band wanted that gloomy scary persona, the name fit. The bass player is Ken-ichi Suzuki He and the guitar player Shinji Wajima have been friends since Jr. High School. They have been together since 1987. The drummer is Nobu Nakajima, and has been with them since 2004. They are all in their 50s. They are influenced by 70's heavy rock, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Kiss....There are videos of them in the early days when they did covers of all those bands. You should hear them do "21st Century Schizoid Man" by King Crimson! They are one of my favorite bands! Thanks again, no one reacts to them! I know you know other reactors, put the word out for these guys. As far as I know, they have never played outside of Japan. I subscribed when I saw your first Babymetal reaction! My 53rd birthday is coming up. Would you react to this Ningen Isu video? Ningen Isu - Odoru Issunboushi (Live in Tokyo 2014) 人間椅子 - 踊る一寸法師 kzread.info/dash/bejne/mIWWq7mNhsedobw.html Thanks man!

Discovered these guys maybe two years ago. First song I heard was 宇宙からの色 (The Color Out Of Space), which is an HP Lovecraft story. Second song was なまはげ (Namahage), which is the name of an oni legend from the area they are from, Akita within Aomori prefecture. Instantly loved their music. Picked up a few CDs and I want to get more. I plan on seeing them live when I get back to Japan. This song takes it's name from a Nostradamus prophecy about a "Great King of Terror" that would descend upon the world. I love the like second epileptic seizure ending.

I need to get into these guys more. I keep hearing them, liking them, then forgetting about them. I've got a couple suggestions for you. First band is Sokoninaru and the song is Tenohira de Odoru (そこに鳴る「掌で踊る」). They're a really technical kind of math hard rock band. 3 members, all of them can play their shit like crazy. The second band is Ailiph Doepa and the song is Macchu Picchu. That one's mainly just for the "what the fuck" factor. They're kind of like if System of a Down took themselves even less seriously, and the video... takes me on a sober acid trip.

I heard them first in September of this year, even though I’ve lived here for 20 years. I now have 19 of their 21 albums (the last two are out of print but on iTunes). Ningen Isu are heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, Budgie, and King Crimson, but I hear a lot of eighties NWoBHM in their music and sometimes a bit of Voivod. By the way, have you checked out 陰陽座 (Onmyou-za), Sigh, or 兀突骨 (Gotsu Totsu Kotsu)? There’s a list out there of the top 50 Japanese metal bands. You might wish to have a look at it.

This band has been around since the late eighties. The drummer is the newest member. The other two are founding members. The lead vocalist is supposed to be dressed as a professor. The bassist as a monk. The drummer is a office professional or some have said like a Japanese mobster. I came across them recently too. I thought they had a sound that was a cross between Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. I think I read somewhere they played at Ozfest or similar, so they do get out of Japan and tour somewhat. They are great and obviously love what they do to be around as long as they have. The song "Namahage" is the first one I listened to and would recommend.

@@DecvsJapan I haven't been a long time fan so I'm not hugely knowledgable about them, but what I've seen, there's basically two kinds of music videos that they have. Either a new one like this, that are well produced, but where they look exactly the same they do in this one (like 人間椅子「虚無の声」MV(AL『異次元からの咆哮』より)) or older ones (like 【高画質】人間椅子「幽霊列車」PV (Ningen Isu - "Ghost Train" Music Video)【高音質 ) where you see and hear the band's more classic look and sound, but where the videos themselves are quite janky.

Very Good. Pika-tune. I'm a bit meh about the vocals. The riffs sound too familiar and as though mixed from different sources. But when the instrumetals kicked in at 7:48 that was a bit of ani-mazing. And the ending was really good.
