Got the i530s and wow i love them. The feel sound and yes they are forgiven. Looks amazing behind the ball

As a i525 (Power Spec loft, Dynamic Gold 300S) owner, I researched the heck out of the i530's and one key thing I noticed is the Standard lofts of the i530's closely match my i525 Power Spec lofts. PING moved the center of gravity on the i530's and apparently increased spin rate and launch angle, and then tossed in their new i530 Power Spec numbers that are insanely lower. All that said, none of these videos on the i530 or even the i525 irons mention the golf ball's characteristics. Truth be known, I tinkered with Titleist higher spinning balls and higher flight balls, because a lot of people thought the i525's lacked stopping power. Despite my current iron setup, I still naturally hit high shots, so I went back to a midflight ball with spin and have zero problems stopping the ball. In conclusion, I get what the i530's are supposed to do, but I can basically adjust my golf ball and get the same results with my i525's, including the phenomenal distance. My verdict: save your money, wait for the i535’s, and tinker with your golf ball.🤣

Does the higher launch and steeper landing angle offset the lower spin?

Just got the I525’s from the G400’s. They’re fantastic.

The i525 also has micro grooves. I saw a much bigger change between i525 vs i500 vice i530 to i525.

Hahahaha! Great spot - especially from a Leeds fan...

The 530s seem to have gaps of about 11-1/2 yards per club, while the 525s may be 13 yards (hard to tell only seeing one 2-club gap). Ping had a problem with unpredictable distances with the i500 and claimed to address that with the i525. With that very long shot on a pull, has that issue come back with the i530?

You're right to come illustrate the problem with the i500. Certainly didn't seem like a problem with i530

Were the 525’s and 530’s spec’d with the same loft? Power or retro?

Yes, they were both the standard lofts - the one in-between power and retro

The i530 standard lofts are slightly stronger lofted than i525.

To answer your question, I'd never pay more that $650 U.S. for 4 iron-gap wedge. For that I can get a custom built set of forged irons with graphite shafts and Lamkin grips. Sadly, I've heard they're not available to the UK. Fortunately, Pings have good resale value. So if you find the i230's unplayable for you, you won't be out too much money.

Keep in mind Georgina is a +2 hcp. She can hit any irons well. These irons are aimed at the purer ball strikers. The average inconsistent golfer would probably have a miserable time and find them very unforgiving. Stick with the G series of irons if you're a mid-high hcp player. I say this from using a very trusted resource that analyses club data.

You're right, Georgina is great player but she's so certainly no professional and does make some mistakes so is certainly in a good position to talk about the forgiveness of the i530s

If I remember this 10 day old video correctly, Georgina hit 5 shots and 4 were on the green and one in the front left bunker. That's excellent striking. I stand by my comment that these clubs may not be suitable for the average golfer. I'd say the target market for the i530's is the better player. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate that Golfalot always responds to comments.

As others have pointed out there is a loft gap between comparable irons of the i530 and i525 which explains the differences in carry distances (at least in part). As for spin, without knowing what Georgina's spin rate would be with other brands it is difficult to assess but the 7i has the same loft as my 6i goes roughly the same distance but spins roughly 500 rpm less than I see (I play i210s) and I am not a high spin player. Overall I think this is a big cosmetic improvement over the i525 but probably not really a performance upgrade.

People just wanna play golf, shoot decent scores and get away for a several hours. Lessons make our game better. I’m sure Ping has produced a nice game improvement iron.

I totally agree. Works of art to look at, but prices of irons these days are astronomical. You don't need to spend that kind of money to play mediocre golf. My new irons are forged cavity backs with old school lofts and Recoil graphite shafts. $400 U.S.D. for extremely high quality clubs. Accurate, consistent and forgiving. what more could you ask?

I know I keep whining about the lack of captions on your videos. But I do rely on them and I enjoy your videos once you switch captions on. You asked me to be patient and said the captions should appear within a short period of time once the video is posted. Today I’m seeing your videos without captions posted today, 11 days ago and 3 weeks ago 😢 Can you please switch on captions for those of us who rely on them? The other golf posts I follow appear with captions live immediately so I don’t understand why it takes so long for your videos. 🤷‍♂️ Thanks 🙏

I wouldn´t spend more then 1000 eur on a set 4-PW, above that I know I will find a used set that looks, and gives me at the least, same resaults. Same goes for drivers; never above 400 eur... The only club I have no isue spending money on is the putter, but even when I tried I still ended up with a putter bellow 450 euro. Golf clubs cost to much money. There is no chanse a driver can give back 599 euro on the corse. 🙂

I just came to watch the actual hitting of the irons and for your conclusions. I don't need to see you hitting drivers, chipping, or putting, but others may. Time is valuable. It's too bad that you didn't have similar irons in both models, so that you could hit 7 iron vs. 7 iron, etc.. The i530 are stronger lofted than the i525, so it stands to reason that they should go 3 or 4 yards further. I also would have been nice to see what the spin difference, launch angle, height, and ball speed were between similarly numbered irons from the two models (given that there is a loft difference). Regardless, thanks for your video. Just suggestions as to how I think you might improve your videos, but for others your videos may be perfect already.

I agree, a more apples to apples, head to head would've been better to compare the 2 models. The other stat's you mentioned would be important to me as well if I was in the market for new irons. They must've collected the data, let's see it.

You hit that on a simulator. Off a matt. Which is not actually representative of what happens off of grass, and simulators are renowned for over rating low spin pulls. Not sure why you staggered iron numbers between the two. Comparing the same iron number seems like a much more obvious and logical approach.

To be honest, sometimes we're not always sent the same irons as the previous years by the manufacturers, so combining the set was a great option to compare the two and make the content a little different to what we have done before.

Loft is too strong on the 530. I've just ordered a set of 525 before they disappear forever., all well and good a mid handicapper like me hitting a 7 iron 180...but in reality it's a 5 iron with a shorter shaft, and I can't stop it on the greens now. In the middle of summer when everything has firmed up it'll be impossible. These clubs and all the other similar examples from different manufacturers are just "flattery" clubs.

I525 are much better finished. Ping is saving but is putting the price up! I understand that money are in commercial advertising but please don't be poison by that!
