I’m just saying, I’ve seen these clubs in store, I’ve held them in my hands, James is not giving enough credit to the beauty of these clubs. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful set of irons in my life. These clubs make me want to spend $2000 on them and then get lessons till I’m worthy of gaming them. Go look at them with your own eyes. Pictures and video do not do these clubs justice. Superintendent John knows. Superintendent John is a man of integrity and taste. The score you will shoot plays second fiddle to the beauty in your golf bag. Go to the store and look at them, hold them in your hands, you will see.

Agreed. James talks himself into negativity all the time. Combo set if you can't stomach the size. Heck, Vokey's are blades.

You're not wrong about blade length. I played OS irons because I hadn't played in years. Accuracy was not good. I switched back to a blade, and I hit everything so much better. Shooters theory: aim small miss small.

Another great review! The honesty is much appreciated. Too bad these aren’t for me. I’ve lost too much distance the last 2 years to even dream of owning big these. Love the look though!

I played my best golf back when I was 15-20 years old. I played a set of S59 irons. I gamed around with other sets, some Titleist Z series blades, etc. I ended up with those Ping's and boy, they were not the prettiest on looks in the bag but over the ball I just had sky high confidence with them. I didn't want to like em, the all chrome blades were much nicer and made me look like a pro. But I played so good with the Ping irons they stayed in my bag. This year I am planning to get fit, and these are really high on the list. I like the T100 too, but I just get these in my hand and it brings that all back. Good thing is they improved the look on these, they look stellar

I've ordered MP-20 HMB and T200 irons. Both were resold within 1 month of purchase. I even got a set of Bridgestone J15 CBs which I used for about 3 months. All have fallen back to my Titleist 712 MB/CB combo, that I paid $250 for, which has since been reshafted with DG AMT X100 shafts...that came out of the T200. (I took $100 off the price and he gave me the shafts back. Score.). Yes, they don't go far when you miss hit them, but they're super consistent when you don't. All three other sets I'd get these random flyers that would have no spin and go 10 yards further and I'd be off the back of the green. And I could still miss hit a short one with them so my front to back dispersion was ridiculously unpredictable.

I own these 4-PW. I definitely agree they can be a little intimidating, but I don't see any further penalty than any other irons in this category. They are almost the exact same size as my Miura MC502s just thinner soles. I have hit them all over the face, and I think they are better than most people would expect. That being said I snagged a pair of the Takomo Copper 301 combo sets that sold last week, so I will checking those out also.. they are also an incredible looking set.

I haven’t hit the new blueprint models. But if they are anything like the original blueprint then they have to be at the top of my list for greatest looking and feeling clubs ever. And I’ve hit them all pretty much. With respect to forgiveness and playability “if you were to play in tournaments”? How many golfers play tournaments? And btw Cool Clubs with their robot testing reported that the original blueprint were the most consistent and forgiving blades they had tested. So For me the solution I came to was to have two sets of irons I rotate. One game improvement set and one aspirational set. Sometimes I even mix the sets and have a contest between game improvement and aspirational. So much fun to nail that blueprint 4 iron right next to my Mizuno jpx 923 hm pro 4 iron. That’s why in love to play.

Like your thinking 😊 I’m doing similar. Except my winter set (current) is P790’s and my aspirational set (near future) for summer will be either ZX7mk2’s for price or Blueprint combo of S/T. Currently have a 2023 Apex CB in my 7 iron specs which I’m using to acclimatise 😂 . Used to play blades back in the Old Testament days when I started playing.

@@kevintrew2299 had p790s and zx7s. Almost embarrassing as literally had them all. A really nice set on the aspirational side of things that you might want to consider is the T150. Feel as good or actually a little better than the zx7 but ball speed is much higher.

Golf ⛳ is a process of adjustment. If you select more forgiving clubs it makes adjustments more difficult because they're less precise. making identifying mistakes more difficult.

Another great video. However, I’m assuming that most of the clubs reviewed on this channel have been gifted by manufacturers ( for legitimate exposure etc). My point is that James’s willingness to actually buy clubs might be skewed compared to those of us who have bought all our clubs. Do you think your perspective has been significantly altered James?

I read alot of excuses to not get more serious with your irons. I play these and I am even more confident simply because they force you to slow your swing down. I hate the word “forgiveness”. It’s a bad word to entertain when choosing a club. Is the club accurate to your swing? If the answer is yes. Then get the club and play better. Ping absolutely nailed it.. for years to come.

@@craigforecast9168 that sounds like good plan. The I 230’s are my favorite irons I’ve ever played. They have the feel of a forged iron with plenty of forgiveness. The key is getting fitted into the correct shaft. Good luck and keep it in the short grass

Tried the S and T recently, and the dispersion and feel were so much better than my i210s. They just helped me really “slow down” the tempo of my swing. Unfortunately, I was losing a club length’s distance. As much as I enjoyed hitting them, the drop in distance compared to my gamers is just too much.

I don’t know why you would buy these clubs? Great looking? Yes. Quality irons? Yes. They are also $1500 minimum. If you are a typical amateur golfer, even a good player, just go order some Tacomos. Let’s see….$650 vs $1500…hmmm. It just simply doesn’t make any sense for an amateur golfer, good player or not, to not consider the direct to consumer clubs. You’re just throwing your money away.
