That 2013 version is old because its generation started in 1990 and lasted till 2018. The newer generation with major changes (to the platform) came almost after 30 years!

That guy isnt that wrong. The effect of aerodynamics increases exponentially it doesnt matter at all at low speeds and becomes very important at higher speeds. You really dont feel it much before 80 mph although its there of course but pretty weak. You start feeling it at line 60 and it becomes bad from 90 and horrible at like 120.

@@timonxDlol my car accelerates significantly slower after about 40mph than from a dead start. I know it's a big problem for cars that don't have much power but the acceleration after 80mph is nearly non existent but it launches pretty hard from dead start. So yeah I'd say aerodynamics play a role even at lower speeds

Agreed. I own the 2018 amg63 and prefer its appearance. Having said this, i wish i had all the technology of the new versions, but you can' have everything unless you own both.

Pheasant Pluckers son probably cuz the older one in this video is black, which makes it look like a cartel-mobile, whereas the new one is red. That makes it look soft. Trust me, red makes either version look soft, and black makes either version look badass

Thank you so much for always also including the sound comparison between the generations and actually explaining what these newly added filters are for! One might think they are just there to piss people off, but while i also think that more often than not the older cars sound a little better, the new exhaust filtering systems do a very important job and are therefore definitely not unnecessary!

Then in the future, G63 will now be 3.0l V6tt 600hp 850nm then 2.0l V4tt 700hp 900nm. Engines are becoming smaller and smaller but stronger and stronger. Emission standards are nuts though, they care about fuel economy and emission but not durability and reliability.

65 is too heavy because of the v12. Very slow.

Is it better to do a launch with traction control or esp enabled or disabled..i know that when you have it on it eliminates spin but i dont mnow if it is a faster way to launch

I own the 16’ g63. Biggest reasons why I don’t get the new one is because I enjoy the rough ride, same intervals as the old old ones and the retro look. But the rough ride is my favorite. Just so much character. Great vid btw! Cheers!

Having watched only the introduction, I reckon drag race is down to gearboxes. Better and more ratios in the newer lets the car exploit powerband better me thinks. Faster shifts as well probably. Also, what ever happens would prefer the "old" one.

ButchE30M3S14 however, there were many quality issues with the old g that the new one resolved. Such as u could see screws and bolts on the turn indicators and the reflection on the windows was a pain in the ass while driving. Interior quality was also cheap. New one is better imo
