New video, 911 call give more details into Riley Strain's disappearance

For five days, investigators have searched low along the banks of the Cumberland river and put his picture high up on billboards - but there's still no sign of college student Riley Strain.

Your dad was telling you the truth. I’m 53, and I can count on 1 hand the number of true friends I’ve had over the years. I told my own children the exact same thing your dad told you, because it’s the truth. I had a close friend get angry with me once because I refused to ride with her when she was going to vandalize some girl’s car because she was running around with my friend’s boyfriend. Why in the world would I make myself an accomplice in her crime by riding with her to commit it? I’m not foolish. But, yeah, “friends” will get you in some real “jams” IF you allow them to. You always have the right to say “No”, and having common sense doesn’t make you a disloyal friend. Whether we like it or not, if we don’t look out for ourselves in life, nobody else will.

Reportedly there was not a problem, not an argument...Riley was asked to leave & he peacefully obliged. His friends tried to follow him out of the bar & management or bouncer would NOT ALLOW IT...guided him out a back door. He called them when he got outside & told them he'd meet them back at the hotel. There were 40 to 50 of them in Nashville...not unusual for college students to believe he was in one of the rooms. Not until they all congregated did they know something was up. The bar should be forced to alter their protocol...ONLY management should be allowed to "kick out" a customer, find them an Uber (@ customer's expense) or contact family or hotel to come get them & if violent, then call police. LUKE BRYAN has been PAINFULLY silent on this matter...not sure how I feel about that. It is also reported that this particular bar has a HABIT of kicking out "overserved" customers & roofie issues...BAR TENDERS, BOUNCERS & STAFF NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED...WTH kind of nefarious activity makes me shudder.

You are correct. But before he fell he was running. How many drunks run after drinking that much? Alcohol is considered a depressant and directly affects the central nervous system. Once alcohol enters the bloodstream, it circulates to the brain, where it proceeds to slow down the firing of neurons. When neuronal firings decrease at a normal rate, it can result in relaxation, fatigue, and sleepiness. He slowed a bit down when he hit his head but noticed that he got back up and kept walking, stumbling, but never stopped to sit down. A real drunken person sits to rest bc he would have been really tired by then. That's the reason we see people that are drunk sleeping on the streets. That was not just alcohol, that was a mix of something else. I do think the police better speak to his frat brothers.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you serve someone to THAT POINT of intoxication......but then YOU throw him out WHEN CLEARLY he is completely unable to take care of himself let alone make it home...without at the VERY LEAST calling him an uber, calling a relative......if not having an employee escort him home. I go to downtown Nashville every day and let me tell you: there are NO police anywhere. I go days without seeing one. 5 years ago? Totally different story -- cops on horses, cops on bikes, cops on motorcycles, cops in cars. Now? NONE. I mean NONE. And what's worse is that if you call 911 the response time is forever. Tourists should keep this in mind; Nashville has a reputation as a friendly city, and it is, but there are bad people here and local politicians have neutered the police and basically turned them into door greeters. If you come here and something happens, you are pretty much on your own unless you get super lucky and one happens to be driving by.

@@princekareem - agreed and they thought so too. Which is why he was told no, go away. He and his buddies were bar hopping. He sent his mother photos of all the places they had gone. It’s hard for a bar to know that one drink is going to put someone over the limit in those cases. Also, as a group it is hard to tell if someone is drunk or just having fun. So the bar served him at least one drink, not sure about his buddies, since one guy had to stop before leaving the bar to pay the tab. It just happened that one guy was his buddy. Who was also drinking and didn’t keep his wits about him, didn’t remember to keep his drunk friend in sight till it was too late. This had to have taken a bit of time cause by the time he got out, he couldn’t see his 6’5” size friend anywhere. Which is really a neat trick cause he would have towered over everyone Or if paying the bill didn’t take that long, his friend gets out of the bar, can’t see him anywhere and assumes he got a cab back to their hotel. Which is what happened here. That’s why it took 12 hours to realize he never made it back to the hotel. Knocking on a drunk persons room, no answer, you assume they are passed out so you go to your room and pass out.

It's not like Frat Bros are friends. All depends how your fitting in with that Brotherhood I'd say. Sure hope they were all interrogated. This kid either suffered a head injury or he was dosed.

It does not take long for a person to escort a drunk friend home and back to party. I hope some lessons were learned here. He does not look like he knows where he was going. Does anyone have a map and see if he was heading in the right direction?

They should have a law in place that you MUST call transportation for customers and NOT just throw them out into the streets alone unable to cope or think straight because of intoxication!!!!

His friends and the bar failed him in his time of need. When you see someone has been over-served and so intoxicated they can’t function you step in and help them. What happened to no friend left behind?????

Unfortunately they don't have the time to handle all of the irresponsible people that come in their bar this way. It's just not their responsibility. People have to take care of themselves. The friends on the other hand, they should have booked it out of that bar and tried to find him as soon as they kicked him out of the backdoor. Inexcusable!

They are not babysitters. It is not their responsibility for people who visit their bar to assist them home.

@@kelseynf True but I do feel if he were in that bad of shape, the human thing to do would be to call the guy an Uber or something. If someone was leaving my establishment wasted, it would be hard for me to just watch them go off alone. I guess we all can't control every person's choices.

they couldn't get into a police lobby? the one near me appears to be built to be accessible to the public. not only does it host a polling place during elections, but there's a huge service counter that looks like a bank and it's just revolving doors to get in from outside... do police stations vary so much?
